The Winter Raiders were a group of raiders that terrorized the population of Kii during the late Sengoku period. Former warriors, the group was shunned by Gobo's elder, who wanted to keep the resources for himself and his villagers.[1]
History
By 1582, the Winter Raiders, led by Jinbei, vowed vengeance against those they protected for their betrayal. Thus, every winter, they raided and killed anyone who opposed them. Thus, Gobo's elder and a local woman Rin sought the help of the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke to rid them of the criminals.[1]
From their investigation, Naoe and Yasuke tracked down and assassinated all of the raiders, but not before uncovering the Gobo's elder's betrayal. When they confronted the Gobo's elder, he admitted to his part but held no remorse for his actions. Before leaving, they warned the elder not to stray from his duties again or he will answer to them.[1]
