Shishi-o (died 1582), also known as The Interrogator, was a Japanese bounty hunter who worked for Wada Koretake. After Koretake's death, he and his fellow bounty hunters moved to Kii to continue their criminal activities.

Biography

By 1582, Shishi-o and his fellow bounty hunters worked with Shinbakufu member Wada Koretake.[1] After Koretake was killed at the hands of Kyonyo and kunoichi Fujibayashi Naoe,[2] Shishi-o and his fellow cohorts traveled to Kii to continue their criminal misdeeds. However, when Kyonyo arrived with the remnants of the Ikkō-ikki in Kii, the bounty hunters used this opportunity for revenge for Koretake.[1]

Shishi-o traversed through the eastern side of Kii and forcibly interviewed the locals about Kyonyo's location. However, his presences was noticed by Kyonyo's father Kennyo, who met with the Kakushiba ikki members Naoe and Yasuke to safeguard his son. He informed him of Shishi-o's last location to be near the southern part of the Kumano Sanzan.[1]
