Assassin's Creed: Shadows – Iga no Monogatari (アサシン クリード シャドウズ 伊賀の物語, lit. Assassin's Creed: Shadows – Tales of Iga) is an on-going manga that was released on Japan's Weekly Young Magazine on 20 March 2025. The manga serves as a prequel to Assassin's Creed: Shadows and follows Tsuyu, a young apprentice of the Japanese Brotherhood who fights alongside Hattori Hanzō and Fujibayashi Nagato[1] against the growing Templar threat in Japan in 1560.
Development
The manga was first announced by Ubisoft on its Japanese media account on Twitter[2] before it was translated and cross-posted to the official Assassin's Creed Twitter.[3] The manga is made in collaboration with the Tokyo-based publishing company Kodansha, which is famous for releasing the critically-acclaimed serials Attack on Titan and Vinland Saga. The manga's initial run will be in Japanese, though English and French translations are expected in the future.[1]
