Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 70
Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 70 is the seventieth episode of Redice Studio's webtoon Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple, a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The webtoon, written by ARC and NOHT and with art by Tabii, was released on 20 August 2024.
Plot synopsis[edit | edit source]
As Rajah explains his plan to use the crescent amulet's powers to prevent the terrible future he has foreseen, Shimazu Saito draws her sword, ready to fight the Visayan chief. However, Edward Kenway stops her, reminding her of their earlier conversation in which they agreed that Edward would deal with Rajah while Saito would retrieve Hendrik's sea log that the rebels had stolen. When Saito remarked that she could easily run off with the log, Edward said that he could not stop her from doing what she wanted, but that it was his responsibility to stop Rajah since they both fought for a common cause: freedom.
Reluctantly leaving Edward to face Rajah alone, Saito takes her leave to search for the sea log. Meanwhile, Edward engages Rajah in a fierce duel and, despite the amulet augmenting the Visayan chief's strength, the two fight to a stalemate. When Rajah claims that Edward will never prevail against his brethren, the Assassin tells him to look around at the bodies of the men slain by Rajah's own blade and that, because of his bloodlust, he is now all alone.
Enraged, Rajah tells Edward that he has no right to judge his people's struggle and reveals that the amulet has shown him visions of the future that awaits the Philippines, including his people's bloody revolution against the Spanish, the war with the United States, and the country's invasion during World War II. After Rajah claims that he will slaughter all foreign invaders until his people are free, Edward points out his hypocrisy and tells him that true freedom only begins when all people are treated as equals. However, Rajah dismisses his words and uses the amulet to summon illusions of Filipino warriors, who surround Edward.
Elsewhere, Rajah's men begin cutting the ropes of the Celestial Chariot while John Young struggles to fight them off. As he ponders what is taking Edward so long to return, John suddenly spots Madam Lee's fleet approaching Cebu.
