Summary[edit | edit source]
- Ise, 1562
Tsuyu arrives at the port and surveys the perimeter and its guards. She asks for her mentor's forgiveness for not training the Assassins in Iga but states that she cannot allow any more slaves to pass from this port. Entering onto the grounds, she soon overhears two guards talking about the people enslaved on the ship and how Balthazar is waiting for them. Tailing them to a meeting near the ship, she soon eavesdrops on the conversation on how six young people are checked in onto the slave ship.
Balthazar explains that they will travel as he has gained a dislike for the sea ever since a Spanish Assassin and a young girl nearly drowned him years ago. Realizing the Templar from her past survived, Tsuyu continues to listen to the conversation. The Templar also congratulates his men for their help in acquiring seven people onto his ship. While his men were perplexed, he reveals that the seventh person is a woman dressed in white as he looks toward Tsuyu. Realizing she has been discovered, she is soon poisoned with a paralytic agent and becomes immobile.
Dragged towards a barrel, Tsuyu comes face-to-face with Balthazar, who interrogates about the location of both the Imperial Regalia and about the Assassins in Iga. While staying silent, Tsuyu is beaten further while she begins to recall her moments with Masayasu and how he did not want her to leave him. Tsuyu then insults the Templars and states Balthazar's violent methods will not work. While he regrets such methods, he orders his man to cut her fingers off her dominant hand. Motionless, Tsuyu watches in horror when the man approaches her with his knife. However, Masayasu ambushes and instantly kills the man. In front of Balthazar, Masayasu calls Tsuyu an idiot. He further tells her that she has always protected him, but now it is his time to protect her.
