Creed
"Creed" is the eighteenth and final chapter of the manga Assassin's Creed: Blade of Shao Jun written by Minoji Kurata.
Summary[edit | edit source]
Kiyoshi Takakura tells Mari that although he called "Granny" for assistance, both of them are breaking into the Abstergo facility immediately. Kō Risa confronts Doctor Kaori Kagami about using her for her own personal goals and how she is exactly like the Templars from the past. An Abstergo employee barges in and informs Dr. Kagami that an Assassin is here. Kiyoshi beats down the guards as he and Mari make their way towards Risa. A guard tries to attack Kiyoshi from behind, but Mari comes to the Assassin's aid and knocks out the guard with a fire extinguisher.
Dr. Kagami aims her pistol at Risa, but she is disarmed. Risa quickly takes down the two guards beside her and turns the gun on Dr. Kagami. Kiyoshi and Mari come in and find that Risa has freed herself before they all confront Dr. Kagami, who laments that the Assassins have ruined her plans yet again.
Kiyoshi warns the doctor to end her experiments on human subjects for both her own and the Templars' sake. Risa then tells Kagami that she was right about her, as she did indeed hate herself, but that her experiences with Shao Jun's memories have helped her discover a new side of herself and make peace with who she is. As Risa sarcastically thanks Dr. Kagami for helping her after all, she shoots the Animus behind her. Leaving Dr. Kagami to her misery, Risa, Mari, and Kiyoshi then leave the facility and are met outside by four guards and Saeko Mochizuki.
Kiyoshi explains to Risa and Mari that Saeko is the Mentor of the Japanese Assassins before she extends an invitation for Risa to join the Brotherhood. Risa accepts while Mari also asks to join and is welcomed by Saeko. The Mentor then tasks the two girls with finding Shao Jun's Precursor box, which is still somewhere in the world, and they accept their mission.
- China, Late 1500s
An older Shao Jun stands atop a wall where Xiao Hu meets her and tells of his leave. Now going by his birth name of Kotetsu, he promises to start a new branch of the Brotherhood in Japan and eradicate the Templars who have recently infiltrated his ancestral homeland. Sharing a hug, Shao Jun and Kotetsu reflect on the future and recite the tenets of the Creed together before parting ways.
