Publisher's summary[edit | edit source]
In this first issue, celebrated artist RAFAEL ALBUQUERQUE (American Vampire, Blue Beetle, Detective Comics, Prodigy) is joined by writer Ale Santos and colorist Marcelo Maiolo. They tell us a story set during the 70ies Brazilian Dictatorship, where a Revolutionary Fighter is captured and sent to a military basement, also known as Torture Rooms...
Also, European writer/artist STÉPHANE LOUIS (Tessa Agent Intergalactique, Carmen McCallum, Aquablue) is joined by Véra Daviet to weave us a tale set in a future where the Templars are on the verge, yet again, of eliminating the Assassin Brotherhood once and for all![1]

La Bestia[edit | edit source]
- Brazil, 1971
A black teenager runs down the street, late for school. When passing by a couple of military policemen, the police grab and start harassing him. A woman with long hair and glasses throws a stone at their car, shouting at them to leave the kid alone. The police throw the kid aside and advance on the woman, beating her with their truncheons before binding her and throwing into the back of their car.
As she is taken to a house on the outskirts on town, she reflects on her mission for the Brotherhood. She had allowed herself to be taken on purpose, to get closer to her target, a Nazi known as "La Bestia". The Brotherhood had learnt about his experiments with Herne+, a substance meant to remove the subjects' freewill.
At the house, she is tied to chair and made to wait in the torture room until La Bestia walks in. He begins to mock the Assassin, stabbing her leg with a knife and readying a syringe, but was interrupted by a guard who entered the room to inform him of movement detected on the compound's perimeter. La Bestia tells the guard to take care of it and closes the door after he leaves, with the distraction allowing his prisoner enough time to cut herself free with her Hidden Blades. She leaps across the room and decapitates him.
With her target dead, she goes through his belongings and finds a notebook detailing Abstergo Industries sites all over South America. A phone rings, and when she picks it up, the caller asks how the experiments went. She warns the caller that the Brotherhood now knows where they all are and that "La Bestia is a new animal now". She walks out of the room to find the bloodied corpses of the guards and three Brotherhood members waiting for her.
No Tomorrow[edit | edit source]
- Templar facility, 2042 AD
A Templar shows the Grand Master of the High Temple their new Animus variant, Project Pythia, which allowed them to explore future timelines and discover that the Templars would end up victorious on all of them by the end of the 21st century. The Templar then asks if the Grand Master wishes to view the end of the last Assassin, to which the Grand Master replies to with excitement, wanting only to know who is the "Subject Alpha" currently inside their Animus. The subject is a man named Sergeï, whose descendant Seeleena, in all futures, is the last Assassin. When questioned on why to not kill immediately him, the Templar explains that they need the Assassins in order to win, being "inextricably linked to them" until Seeleena falls during a great ritual in 2124.
- Unknown location, 2119 AD
High atop a city, Seeleena and her husband kiss, teetering on the edge of a building. She is suddenly pushed over the edge and falls until a cybernetic phoenix-looking eagle saves her. Months pass, and the eagle, Altaïr, proceeds to teach her everything about the Assassins, having been sent by the Brotherhood of 2042 to save her. Some time later, Seeleena tracks a target from a high point, performing a Leap of Faith and hiding among the crowd until she can pull her target into an alleyway. She threatens the Templar for the password to their place of worship using a plasma Hidden Blade aimed at his throat.
Seelena then goes to their temple, wishing to avenge the Brotherhood by killing the Grand Master of the Templars. She finds him inside the building and notes his voice is familiar to her, as the current Grand Master is her former husband. He welcomes her, explaining that it had been his mission to kill her, the one destined to be the final Assassin. He boasts that she cannot win, for the Templars know that she loses in every timeline. She air assassinates him, saying that she was not the last Assassin, but the first.
- Templar facility, 2042 AD
The two Templars are shocked by the excerpt of the future, and one of them notes that the timelines have been reset and Sergeï saved.
