Assassin's Creed: Shadows – Tales of Iga Chapter 6

Assassin's Creed: Shadows – Tales of Iga Chapter 6 is the sixth chapter of the manga Assassin's Creed: Shadows – Tales of Iga, a prequel to Assassin's Creed: Shadows. The manga, written and illustrated by Reguje, was released on 22 May 2025.

Summary

Iga, 1560

The two strangers, a shinobi and a rōnin, discuss their next steps as the rōnin recalls his time in his home region of Iga. He recounts the rumors of the Imperial Regalia being hidden in a tomb, which he could not confirm. Knowing that they will attack soon, the rōnin plans to take the head of Momochi Sandayu as a trophy while the shinobi doubts his cohort. With their designated target, the shinobi advances with his team as they both leave their meetup, unaware of Tsuyu having eavesdropped on their conversation.

At their hut, Hattori Hanzō finds Fujibayashi Masayasu awake and studying and tells him that he should be out on patrol. Masayasu states that he just wanted to make some progress in his training, hoping to reach Hanzō's level, whom he looks up to. While Hanzō is briefly taken aback by the comment, Masayasu proceeds to thank him for all his help, as Hanzō has looked after him and been supportive of him ever since they met. Hanzō, flattered, is about to give his response but is interrupted by a sudden attack from an intruder, who happens to be one of the strangers, the shinobi. Hanzō tells Masayasu to run and find help while he deals with the attacker. As the shinobi asks if he remembers him, Hanzō recalls that he is one of Sandayu's rejected students.

Meanwhile, Masayasu runs through the grounds until he finds a wounded Konan, who states that enemies are attacking from multiple directions. Before he can leave to inform Sandayu, Masayasu comes face-to-face with a lone rōnin, who asks sternly about the location of the Imperial Regalia. Realizing that the man must be working for the Templars, Masayasu arms himself with his kusarigama and refutes that he knows the Imperial Regalia's location. Instantly, the rōnin attacks Masayasu, who blocks his strike. Masayasu then runs away further into the bamboo forest, reasoning that he stands no chance of defeating the rōnin due to his opponent's size and strength.

While Masayasu is hiding, the rōnin tries to goad him into the open, only to be nearly struck by a shuriken thrown by Masayasu. The rōnin then starts to look around and sees a figure with the kusarigama. Attacking quickly, he realizes that it was just the weapon and Masayasu's robes on a stick post. Upon this revelation, he begins to scramble and look around the bamboo for Masayasu. Instantly, Masayasu attacks him with his kunai and manages to strike the rōnin in the neck.
