"Culmination" is the seventeenth chapter of the manga Assassin's Creed: Blade of Shao Jun written by Minoji Kurata.
Summary
Doctor Kaori Kagami talks with her assistant about the ongoing progress while holding Kō Risa captive in the Animus. She remarks that after she finds the truth, they will dispose of Risa. Overhearing their conversation, the Assassin Kiyoshi Takakura calls Mari and informs her of the situation. When Mari wants to come along, Kiyoshi drives to pick her up.

Shao Jun confronts Zhang Yong, who explains that he does not care about the Ming Empire or how the Mongols are attacking the Great Wall at full force. The Mongols, seeing the gates closed, believe they have been betrayed and unleash their catapults, hoping to penetrate the Great Wall. However, the Ming guards are able to withstand the assault while Xiao Hu deals with the few remaining Mongol scouts.
Zhang Yong continues to taunt Shao Jun, criticising the Assassin for failing to see the bigger picture. He claims that the Ming Empire is but a fragment of the greater world the Templars seek, and that their end goal of global peace will not be stopped. Just then, a shot from a catapult strikes Zhang Yong's tower, causing it to collapse. The Templar falls to the ground and is left at the mercy of Shao Jun, who holds her sword to his neck.
Revealing that the Precursor box has been given to Templar allies outside of China, Zhang Yong mocks Shao Jun for failing her quest for vengeance. However, the Assassin counters that revenge is no longer her goal; while she began her journey filled with rage and hatred, her experiences have helped her find a new purpose: hope. She now understands the Assassins' cause of fighting for freedom and is confident that, even if she fails, others will inherit her will, so that the Creed may live on.
Zhang Yong counters that the Templars have allies of their own who will continue their mission, and so the war between their orders may never end. Shao Jun acknowledges this reality, but claims that her and Zhang Yong's fight is over now, and stabs the Templar in the heart.
