Yokohama
Yokohama (横浜) is the second largest city in Japan.
History[edit | edit source]
Sometime prior to 2001, the parents of Kō Risa immigrated to the city from China. Lisa herself was later born in the city.[1]
In 2019, after Risa had been expelled from numerous schools for violent behavior, she was admitted to an Abstergo Industries clinic in Yokohama to receive treatment. There, she met Dr. Kaori Kagami, who promised to aid her. At the clinic, Risa was placed in an Animus to relive her ancestor Shao Jun's memories.[1] After a few sessions, Dr. Kagami revealed to Risa the ongoing struggle between Assassins and Templars. Meanwhile, outside the clinic, the Japanese Assassin Kiyoshi Takakura spoke with his Mentor Saeko Mochizuki about his mission concerning Risa and Dr. Kagami.[2]
Some days later, when Risa's cousin Mari approached her aunt in a restaurant and asked for Risa's whereabouts, her mother only replied that she was late.[3] Fortunately, Mari found Risa in the streets soon after the latter was done with her daily therapy session.[4] While at a café, Mari and Risa were approached by Kiyoshi, who told them to meet him at a secret location to learn "the truth." Intrigued, they followed his directions the next day and met with Kiyoshi, who told them about the war between the Assassins and Templars and how Dr. Kagami was using Risa for her own goals. However, Risa was reluctant to heed his warnings and left for her next session.[5]
Mari stayed and listened to Kiyoshi, who stated that Risa was expendable to the Templars and that her life may be in danger.[6] Mari later found Risa again and told her about the real purpose of the sessions and how Kiyoshi had warned her of the Templars' callous methods. Wishing to learn more of the truth, Risa went back to the clinic but decided to be more observant of her doctor.[7] After her session ended, Risa confronted Dr. Kagami about the Bleeding Effect, but she retaliated by locking the room and aiming a pistol at Risa.[8]
After Risa was forced back into the Animus by Dr. Kagami's guards, they learned that Shao Jun had lost possession of the Precursor box, meaning Kagami had wasted her time on Risa because her memories were a dead end. Just then, Risa woke up from the Animus and confronted the doctor about her manipulation.[9] Meanwhile, Kiyoshi informed Mari about Risa's capture, and they both headed to the facility to rescue her. Thanks to the skills gained from Shao Jun, Risa saved herself, subduing Dr. Kagami's guards and disarming the doctor before using her gun to destroy the Animus.[10]
Leaving Dr. Kagami in despair, Risa, Mari, and Kiyoshi left the clinic and were met by Saeko and her guards outside. Offering a choice to Risa, Saeko invited both her and Mari to join the Assassins. After they accepted, the girls were given the task of locating the Precursor box.[10]
