Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 44 is the forty-fourth episode of Redice Studio's webtoon Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple, a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The webtoon, written by ARC and SHYATAN and with art by Tabii, was released on 20 February 2024.
Plot synopsis[edit | edit source]
As Doom Eagle continue to fire on the trapped Abstergo convoy, Noa Kim spots an empty alleyway and informs Yuki. The car transporting Noa, Yuki, and Shimazu Sei is able to escape through the alley, but Doom Eagle members give chase on motorcycles. Yuki reveals the concealed assault rifle in her briefcase and opens fire on the pursuing bikers, killing one of them.
As one of the bikers approaches the car, he sees Noa and lowers his submachine gun, confirming that Doom Eagle is trying to rescue him. Meanwhile, Yuki contacts the Abstergo headquarters for backup and is told to head to a nearby shopping mall, where Abstergo is gathering the local police. Sigma Team is also deployed and estimated to arrive at the mall in 15 minutes.
After arriving at the mall, the Abstergo car is suddenly hit by a truck and thrown into a fountain. Nathan Zhang emerges from the truck with his men, who proceed to open fire on the wrecked car. Noa wakes Sei, who was knocked unconscious in the crash, while Yuki and the remaining Abstergo guards exchange fire with Nathan's men. Yuki, gravely wounded, tells Noa that he is the only one who can protect Sei now and hands him her bracer, which contains a retractable stun baton akin to a Hidden Blade.
With Yuki providing cover fire, Noa and Sei run into the mall to escape from Doom Eagle. However, Nathan spots them and enters the mall with his men. After knocking out the security guards, Nathan orders his men to switch to non-lethal melee weapons as there are too many civilians around. He then prepares to hunt both Noa and Sei, and tells his men to kill Sei if they find her, as she is not a member of their "family".
