Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 3 is the third episode of Redice Studio's webtoon Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple, a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The webtoon, written by ARC and SHYATAN and with art by Tabii, was released on 9 May 2023.
Plot summary[edit | edit source]
After saving John Young's life and killing their attackers, whom John identifies as pirates from Cipango, Edward Kenway deduces that they targeted John for the same reason as him. Believing John's friend Hendrik might also be in danger, Edward and John head to a boarding house which accommodates many Dutch East India Company sailors in Macau. Edward tells John to wait outside and climbs up to Hendrik's room, only to find the man bleeding out from a stab wound. With the last of his strength, Hendrik hands Edward a letter for his family, whom he abandoned in pursuit of wealth, and reveals what little information he has about the location of a "piece" in Angkor before passing away. Just then, a group of sailors barge into the room and, seeing Edward standing over Hendrik's body, assume he killed their friend and prepare to attack him.
In the present, Noa Kim's intense feelings about family and his father's abandonment after hearing Hendrik's story cause a synchronization error during the session, but the Animus' attempt to resync by bypassing factual information is successful and the simulation continues.
