Summary
Iga, 1560
Momochi Sandayu. standing alongside Tsuyu, begins to tell his students Hattori Hanzō and Fujibayashi Masayasu that what is stated in this room stays between the four of them. When Masayasu asks why, the Master Assassin Alvaro Catarribera interrupts asking the same sentiment. Sandayu explains that both men are his two youngest students while Alvaro introduces himself and the young woman as his apprentice Tsuyu. Alvaro continues to explain their mission as members of the Assassin Brotherhood and he details how another group, the Templars, have been working for the last eleven years to take over Japan.
Alvaro states that he had been posing as a missionary on one of their boat to spy and recovered their plans to steal the Imperial Regalia in order to control the people of Japan. Their goal is to steal the Imperial Regalia first before the Templars. Masayasu asked more about the Templars, to which Alvaro dictated that their main purpose was to control all under their own vision of a utopia, no matter the cost. He also recalls his time in Spain, where the Templars enacted a massacre that killed many of his fellow Assassins and friends. Tsuyu remarks that they fight for the people's own freedom and choices.
Alvaro states that the Templars have been spotted in Sakai and have begun to expand under the guise of doing further business. Hanzō retorts by asking why they were picked instead of well-known samurai or the powerful daimyō. Alvaro explains that Iga has been under no political power and strived under their independence, something they share in common. Hanzō explained that he comes from a family of samurai and asked to hunt down these invaders himself to rid his land of the problem. Sandayu tells Hanzō that this is not the only reason they came and that Catarribera held a petition from an important figure.
Emperor Go-Nara entrusted the Brotherhood his support in their fight against the Templars, where Alvaro showed his petition as proof of the war. Hanzō then remarked what Tsuyu have against the likes of him and the other shinobi. Instantly, Tsuyu attacked and incapacitated Hanzō, telling him that he is an arrogant fool. Leaving Hanzō on the floor, Tsuyu walked back while Alvaro chuckled and Masayasu was left stunned. On the floor, Hanzō looked at how strong she was and how she would make a great wife for him and his family. Grinning, Hanzō sat back up and apologized for his remarks while Tsuyu apologized in response. With the matters resolved, Sandayu ended the meeting and told them to sleep, telling the three of them will train tomorrow as a shinobi and as an Assassin.
