Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 96 is the ninety-sixth episode of Redice Studio's webtoon Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple, a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The webtoon, written by ARC and YEON and with art by Tabii, was released on 25 February 2025.

Plot synopsis[edit | edit source]

Edward Kenway bids farewell to his wife Tessa and daughter Jennifer before he and the rest of the Fenghuang's crew leave Singapore to resume their journey. Edward apologizes for having to leave his family once again, but Tessa assures him that she knew what to expect when she married him. She then remarks that she might have picked up an "extra passenger" and that Edward can expect a surprise when he returns home, though the Assassin does not understand what she means. Shimazu Saito comments on Edward's family being just as headstrong as him before they both board the Fenghuang, where Rupiya greets them and reveals that John Young arrived shortly before them.

After the ship sets sail, Edward gathers all his companions, telling Saito, John, Rupiya, Yun Pyeong-Gyu, and Nagamasa about the visions shown to him by the crescent amulet. He mentions that the second Piece of Eden is housed within a golden temple, which Rupiya immediately identifies as the Shwedagon Pagoda in Burma. The captain then claims that the nation is currently in turmoil, but mentions that he has some old contacts there who should be able to help them.

Edward continues, revealing that his visions have also showed him the purpose and functionality of all three Pieces of Eden: while the first artifact is used to control minds and contains "all knowledge of mankind's past, present and future", the second is used to unlock and control its powers, and the third, which can be found in Angkor, serves to spread the other two's power on a large scale. He then explains that, when brought together, all three artifacts could theoretically be used to rule over the entire world, or even change the course of human history.

While the crew members become worried at the prospect of the the Pieces of Eden falling into the wrong hands, Rupiya declares that he will accompany Edward until the very end, to ensure that humanity's freedom is preserved. Yun also vows to stand by Edward's side and see what other worldly mysteries they uncover, while Saito states that she will help the crew acquire the artifacts, but only because she has her own need of them. Edward interjects, telling Saito that, when the time comes to decide her future, the choice will be hers alone to make. He then asks John if he will also join them on one last adventure, to which the navigator declares that, despite everything that has happened, he will never abandon Edward.

Elsewhere, Xiao Han meets with Madam Lee on her ship to show her the crescent amulet he retrieved. Lee reveals that her spies have caught wind of the East India Company's recent activities and that the company is also searching for the Pieces of Eden, meaning that the race for the artifacts has turned into a three-way struggle. After Xiao Han remarks that eliminating Edward's crew when they had the chance would have facilitated their mission, Lee reveals her plan to let their enemies retrieve the artifact from Burma so they can steal it afterwards. Xiao Han warns Lee that the Pieces of Eden are not trinkets to be toyed with, and the madam promises to keep this in mind as they sail to Đại Việt to commence their expedition to Angkor.

At night, Edward and Saito discuss what they will each do once their journey together is over. When Saito reveals that the time spent with Edward's family has made her consider starting a family of her own, John arrives and tells her that he also dreamed of starting a family with Xialun Qing. He then asks Edward if he will do anything in his power to bring back a loved one, should the opportunity present itself.

Edward responds that a man's family is everything to him, and explains how the crescent amulet showed him a vision of his death in the Sultanate of Sulu, which he somehow managed to avoid. Concluding that the future is not set in stone and that one can change their own fate, Edward declares that he has to see their adventure through no matter what. John and Saito both agree, and the latter proposes a toast, vowing that each of them will find what they are looking for by the end of their journey.

Elsewhere, Alan Jacob is informed by a spy that the Fenghuang's crew is approaching their destination. Remarking that their pursuit has come to an end, Alan gives the order to prepare their fleet to set sail so that they can commence their "foxhunt".
