Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 48 is the forty-eighth episode of Redice Studio's webtoon Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple, a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The webtoon, written by ARC and SHYATAN and with art by Tabii, was released on 19 March 2024.
Plot synopsis
Although Yun Pyeong-Gyu's fire barrels prove successful, Shimazu Saito mentions that the enemy ship is still incoming. Edward Kenway admires the ship's captain while Rupiya details the captain herself has pillaged and plundered around the South China Sea. Despite the setback, Jeong sails her burning ship towards Fenghuang. Being rammed, Kenway checks on his crew, especially Yun and John Young, who respond that they are well. Meanwhile, Jeong tells her passengers that she is near Kenway's ship like they wanted. Together, the Chinese Mentor Xiao Han and his fellow Assassins Liu Qing and Xue Yan ready themselves with their gliders and soar over Jeong's ship towards Edward.
John Young celebrates their escape from Jeong's ship but Saito shouts out that there are gliders incoming. When the Chinese Assassin soar over them, they drop grenade on top while Edward tells his crew to head below deck. When the Chinese Assassins land on the ship, they attack and kill Edward's crew while smoke covers their assault. While John aims and shoots at Liu, Yun and the crew try to put out the fire. Yun soon realizes that it is Greek fire and needs sand to extinguish the fire. Although the fires are put out, Xiao heads towards Yun, who freezes in front of the Mentor and calls for help. Immediately, Kenway attacks Xiao Han and engages him in a sword fight. Liu looks to his master, only to be surrounded by John and the crew aiming their guns at him. Before they could shoot, Xue Yan shoots an arrow above with her crossbow. However, shurikens are thrown towards Xue, who dodges them. Facing Xue, Saito readies her sword and challenges Xue as a means of revenge for her lost friends.
