Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 30 is the thirtieth episode of Redice Studio's webtoon Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple, a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The webtoon, written by ARC and SHYATAN and with art by Tabii, was released on 14 November 2023.
Plot synopsis
Edward Kenway and his crew arrive back in Macau with the pirate ships they seized. They are met by Jan van Aert, who offers to help register the ships and keeps his promise of a five-year contract between the Dutch East India Company and the Zhang Wei Union. However, Edward refers him to Zhang, claiming that he is merely an advisor and that Zhang is the true head of the Union. Jan laughs and shakes hands with Zhang to secure the deal. This new partnership allows the Union to grow rapidly, although Edward struggles to keep up with the increasing demands of the company, findingh himself overwhelmed by the amount of paperwork he must complete.
At the end of one day of work, Edward speaks with John Young and Zhang in the latter's office, discussing the Templars' plans with Angkor. Believing that they can not allow the lost city's treasure to fall into the hands of their enemies, John suggests that they investigate the Japanese ninja who have stolen Hendrik's sea log, the only clue to Angkor's location. Zhang then reveals that Master Sun has been seen in the company of the Japanese lately, and that there are rumors the ninja have split into opposing two factions: the full-blooded Japanese and those with mixed heritage. Deciding to take advantage of the situation, Edward tells John and Zhang to accompany him to the city.
At the Macau market, Edward, John and Zhang witness an altercation between two groups of ninja in broad daylight. Edward tells John to inform Jan of the situation while he intervenes in the fight. During the battle, the mainland Japanese ninja denounce Edward for apparently working with Shimazu Saito, who leads the overseas ninja, and attack him. Meanwhile, the overseas ninja decide to eliminate the Assassin for their master, and so Edward finds himself fighting both groups at the same time.
After the ninja turn their attention away from Edward and resume their fighting, an annoyed Edward fires his pistol in the air, startling the ninja and ending the fight. Uninterested in their conflict, Edward states that he only wants Saito's whereabouts so that he can recover what she stole from him, and claims that he will fight for whichever faction can help him. At that moment, however, Master Sun arrives with his guards and reveals that the sea log is his property, just like his men, and that anyone who lays a finger on them will earn his wrath. He then claims that no one in Macau who has picked a quarrel with him has lived to tell the tale, and warns Edward to consider his next move very carefully.
