Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 16 is the sixteenth episode of Redice Studio's webtoon Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple, a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The webtoon, written by ARC and SHYATAN and with art by Tabii, was released on 8 August 2023.
Plot summary
Edward Kenway drops back onto his ship along with the pirates' captain he captured and talks with John Young. Although resisting, the pirates' captain soon agreed to aid both men after considering his options with the Dutch East India Company. With the pirate captain captive, Edward and John sail back to the village and keep the captain locked up in a cell. Afterwards, Edward heads back to Macau to inform her about saving her ship and how Master Sun set pirates to attack her vessel and paid off the Dutch soldiers to look away.
Back at the Mandarin's House, Edward finds Madam Lee's home damaged and her number of men dwindled. Confronted, Edward meets Madam Lee, who blames him for the incursions against her. However, he retorts that her actions caused her mistakes and that every person must own up to their choices and take responsibility for any outcome. Impressed, Madam Lee is told of Master Sun's hand on the attack on her ship and the pirates. Before they could continue, a worker interrupts their conversation and states that her ship has been detained by the Dutch Navy.
Meeting the Dutch navymen, Madam Lee asks why her ship has been seized. The sailors state that her ship is under investigation for transporting illegal narcotics but she looks over their attempt as she states that the Far East Company's ship remain untouched. The sailor admits that they are following resident official's orders and that any resistance will be met by deadly force. Angry, she leaves the navymen while Edward offers a solution. He plans to do the same to her own enemies. At night, he follows Alan Jacob and his convoy of goods to a basement in an alley. Venturing down the stairs, he catches sight of Jacob's workers smoking and becomes noticed. While the workers ready themselves for a fight, the light goes out and the room goes dark. With the workers blind, Edward readies his hidden blade.
