Culmination
"Culmination" is the seventeenth chapter of the manga Assassin's Creed: Blade of Shao Jun written by Minoji Kurata.
Summary
Yokohama, Japan, 2019
Doctor Kaori Kagami talks with her assistant about the ongoing progress while holding Lisa captive in the Animus. She remarks that after she finds the truth, they will dispose of Lisa. Overhearing their conversation, Assassin Kiyoshi Takakura calls Mari and informs her of the situation. When Mari wants to come along, Kiyoshi drives to pick her up.
Great Wall, China, 1532
Shao Jun confronts Zhang Yong, who explains he does not care of the Ming Empire and how the Mongols are attacking at full force with the gates closed. With the Mongols attacking with catapults, the Great Wall is partially destroyed as Zhang Yong's tower begins collapsing. In midst of its collapse, Shao Jun holds her sword at Zhang Yong's neck. However, he explains it does not matter and that her box has been given to allies of the Templars. However, Shao Jun knows their war may continue but states their fight has ended as she kills Zhang Yong.
Yokohama, Japan, 2019
Dr. Kagami yells out aloud over the failure of her experiments and states the Assassins are to blame. She recalls her meeting with Ellen Kaye, who demoted her after her subjects rioted and how she fell into alcoholism. Suddenly, Lisa wakes up from the simulation and confronts Dr. Kagami about exploiting her.
