Plot synopsis

Separated from Fuma Sukuna and his ninja by the fire, the Rattan Shield Company's captain orders the deployment of their cavalry, intending to go around the flames and ambush their enemies. Meanwhile, Yun Pyeong-Gyu and the other Zhang Wei Union open fire on the ninja, but Shimazu Saito orders them to retreat and let her and Nagamasa's mercenaries deal with the ninja. The Union members comply as the ninja charge at Saito and the mercenaries, initiating a fight.

While fleeing through the forest, Yun and the others run into Edward Kenway and Xialun Qing, who are heading to the island's shore. Yun tells Edward that the enemy acted exactly as he said they would, almost as if Edward had seen the future. The Assassin then urges the group to hurry, revealing that their enemies have not given up yet and are approaching their location as they speak.

Aboard the Fenghuang, a lookout spots the fire coming from the island and informs the rest of the crew. John Young deduces this to be a sign that their allies are in trouble, and wakes up a napping Rupiya, telling him to bring the ship closer to the shore so they can help the others.

In the fiery arena, Saito duels Sukuna, and the two appear to be evenly matched. Nagamasa offers to help Saito, but she orders him to stay out of it. After a grueling fight, Sukuna gains the upper hand and injures Saito's right arm, preventing her from using her sword. The shinobi leader then boasts that he taught Saito everything she knows and that she will never be able to defeat him. He further states that any attempts by outsiders like her to learn the Shimazu clan's arts will never amount to anything more than pale imitations, and prepares to execute her.

A furious Saito tackles Sukuna to the ground and takes out her kunai in an attempt to stab him. Sukuna blocks the attack with his hand and continues to taunt Saito, but she eventually overpowers him and plunges the kunai into his throat. Worried for his master, Nagamasa rushes to check on Saito, just as Sukuna draws his last breath. After exchanging concerned looks, Nagamasa claims that he was only worried for Saito because it is "bad business to let a client die", and asks how it feels to finally achieve her vengeance. An exhausted Saito stands up and replies that it's "like the clouds have lifted at last."

Elsewhere, Edward and the other Union members arrive at a cliff, only to be confronted by the Qing Empire's Special Cavalry Unit. Holding onto the crescent amulet, Edward declares that he will eliminate anyone who dares to stand in his path and prepares to fight the soldiers.
