Plot synopsis[edit | edit source]
Edward Kenway and Shimazu Saito rush to Sun's ship, witnessing the chaos left by the Japanese ninja in their wake: workers and civilians are running towards the smaller ships to evacuate, while Saito's men are being massacred by the ninja. The sight of her men in danger sends Saito into a frenzy and she kills the ninja, but it is too late to save her men. Vowing revenge, she is confronted by more arriving ninja and kills them with Edward's help. As the the two continue to advance towards Sun's ship, they are confronted by a ninja sniper, but he is taken out by John Young, who tells Edward that he will provide cover fire with his musket.
Meanwhile, Sun reprimands Xiao Han for betraying him, telling his nephew that he would be nothing without his patronage, and orders his guards to kill Xiao Han and his companions, Liu Qing and Xue Yan. As the Assassins fight Sun's guards and Saito's men, Xiao Han chases after a fleeing Sun. Climbing to the top of Sun's ship, Edward and Saito witness the battle and are surprised to see that they are not the only ones targeting Sun.
While Edward ponders the identity of the warriors fighting Saito's men, the Templar rushes to her subordinates' aid and confronts Liu Qing, who is dueling Saito's second-in-command. The ninja tells Saito to save herself before falling to Liu Qing's blade, leaving Saito stunned. Meanwhile, Xiao Han corners Sun and is about to execute his uncle when Edward intervenes and stops him. Unaware of each other's identities, the two Assassins prepare to clash.
