Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 16

Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 16 is the sixteenth episode of Redice Studio's webtoon Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple, a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The webtoon, written by ARC and SHYATAN and with art by Tabii, was released on 8 August 2023.

Plot summary

After freeing Madam Lee's restrained sailors, Edward Kenway drops back onto his and John Young's ship with Captain Rupiya whom he captured. Suspecting that the Dutch East India Company has been paid off given their ignoring of the attack on Lee's ship, Edward decides to keep Rupiya as their prisoner rather than hand him over to the authorities. Upon returning to Zhang's village, Edward and John imprison Rupiya inside a guarded warehouse and discuss their next course of action.

Deciding to inform Lee that Master Sun was behind the attack on her ship, Edward travels to the Macau market, discovering the aftermath of the attack that took place there. Lee blames Edward for the damage, including the deaths of many of her workers, but he retorts that life rarely is a fairytale where no one ends up hurt and claims that he has done his share of foolish choices in the past, but learned to accept their consequences. He then reveals that Sun hired the pirates to attack Lee's fleet, but before they can discuss more, a worker arrives to inform Lee that one of her ships has been detained by the Dutch Navy.

Meeting the Dutch navymen, Lee questions why her ship has been seized. One of the sailors states that the ship is under investigation for transporting illegal narcotics, but Lee sees through his lie and points out that the Far East Company's ships remain untouched, to which the sailor claims that they have already received approval. When Lee accuses the navymen of being stooges for the East India Company, the sailor states that they are only following the resident official's orders and that any resistance will be met by deadly force.

Angry, Lee leaves the navymen while Edward offers a solution. He plans to give Lee's enemies a taste of their own medicine. At night, he follows Alan Jacob and his convoy of goods to a basement in an alley. Venturing down the stairs, he catches sight of Alan's workers smoking and becomes noticed. While the workers ready themselves for a fight, the light goes out and the room goes dark. With the workers blinded, Edward readies his Hidden Blade.
