Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 8 is the eighth episode of Redice Studio's webtoon Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple, a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The webtoon, written by ARC and SHYATAN and with art by Tabii, was released on 13 June 2023.
Plot summary
Edward Kenway overhears the workers talking about Madam Lee having bought Hendrik's sea log, yet his current objective is to steal enough salt and sugar for Zhang and his village without being detected. Before he can act, Edward sees a bomb thrown inside the storehouse and everything catching on fire. Using this attack as a distraction, Edward jumps down and starts to loot the items. Trying to sneak past the workers, he is noticed but states to the workers that the fire requires their attention. Unfortunately, the workers are quickly cut down by ninja, who then attack Edward.
Three ninja attack Edward, who dodges their attacks. He kills the three with ease, shocking two remaining ninja on horseback. The two ninja shoot at Edward, who hides behind some crates. Dodging one of the ninja, he jumps over the other and kills him instantly. Scaring the other ninja, Edward sees him fleeing and throws a sword into the ninja's horse's leg. Stuck, the last ninja tries to stab Edward, but Edward disarms and holds his Hidden Blade to his throat. Edward tries to interrogate him but the ninja states he knows about the Assassins and proclaims himself to be part of the Shimazu clan before committing suicide with Edward's blade.
In the Animus, Noa recognizes the word "Assassins" and recalls an earlier conversation with Doctor Shimazu Sei, who had explained that the war between Templars and Assassins had left bloodshed and trails of violence, mostly due to the Assassins' cause for freedom. However, Noa retorted that the Templars were no better, due to them kidnapping him and others and being used as lab rats. Noa states to himself that he will see the truth through his time in Edward's memories.
Edward packs his sugar and salt quotas onto a horse before being spotted by Dutch East India Company soldiers, who shoot at him while he flees from the burning storehouse on horseback.
