Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 23 is the twenty-second episode of Redice Studio's webtoon Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple, a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The webtoon, written by ARC and SHYATAN and with art by Tabii, was released on 26 September 2023.
Plot synopsis
While Noa finds the book, he then hears gunshots outside and decides to investigate. He sees Dr. Shimazu Sei and her men surrounded by thugs. Wanting to help, Noa notices a man approaching him and attacks, only to stop when the man tells him that they are here to rescue him. Realizing that he may be part of the Assassins, Noa rejects his offer and tells him that he has unfinished business. The man shoots Noa with a tranquilzer but Noa is unaffected and attacks the man. Restating his purpose, Noa convinces the man to leave him for now but not before the man stating that they do not abandon family.
Meanwhile, Dr. Shimazu and her men are surrounded by the thugs, who kill her last remaining guards. Helpless, the doctor soon watches Noa knock out and immobilize her attackers by himself. When the doctor asks why he did not run, Noa responds that their deal is still intact. Leaving, Noa presents the book to her while they both travel back to the facility. Back in confinement, Noa starts to wonder how the effects of the Animus almost made lose control. Then, Dr. Shimazu returned and revealed that after the Zhang Wei Union was established, his activities expanded throughout all of southeast Asia. Back in the Animus, Noa is told to explore the start of the union while Dr. Shimazu thanks him for her rescue.
In a glimpse, Noa relives the memory when Edward Kenway establishes the Zhang Wei Union and state, "We do not abandon family." There, Noa realizes it was the same statement from the man from A-Ma Cultural Village.
