Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 91 is the ninety-first episode of Redice Studio's webtoon Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple, a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The webtoon, written by ARC and YEON and with art by Tabii, was released on 14 January 2025.
Plot synopsis[edit | edit source]
Xiao Han launches a rope dart at Edward Kenway, but the latter is revealed to be just an illusion projected by the crescent amulet. Holding the amulet in his hand, the real Edward appears behind Xiao Han and impales him with his sword in the shoulder. As Xiao Han calls out Edward for his perceived hypocrisy, denying him the amulet's power while having no issue using it himself, he is surrounded by more apparitions of his opponent. Xiao Han tries fighting the illusions, but the real Edward grabs and kicks him to the ground.
Seeing his Mentor defeated, Liu Qing tries to rush to his aid but is stopped when John Young shoots his foot, injuring the Assassin. With Xiao Han at his mercy, Edward activates his Hidden Blade and prepares to stab him. Watching from aboard her ship, Zheng is disappointed by the Chinese Assassins' failure and, after her lieutenant reminds her of their orders from Madam Lee to keep the Assassins alive, the admiral reluctantly decides to sail to their rescue.
Before Edward can kill Xiao Han, he is distracted by two visions of the future. The first one shows a young boy—unbeknownst to him, his son Haytham—crying over Edward's dead body, while the second depicts Haytham's own demise at the hands of his son, Ratonhnhaké:ton. Seeing this, Edward is reluctant to take Xiao Han's life in cold blood, allowing the Chinese Mentor to break free from his grasp and knock him down, making Edward drop the amulet.
Before Xiao Han can take it, John intervenes and knocks him aside. He tells Edward that they must escape, with or without the amulet, only for a furious Xiao Han to lunge at him with his sword. Before Xiao Han can strike John, Xialun Qing jumps in and takes the blow instead, leaving everyone stunned. Holding the mortally wounded Qing, John asks her why she would do such a thing, to which Qing explains that she only ever had one wish—to see as much of the world as she could with John—and thanks him for loving and accepting her for who she was.
As Qing draws her last breath, John is left devastated, while Xiao Han, Liu Qing, and Xue Yan all look on remorsefully. With Suluese guards rapidly approaching their position, the Chinese Assassins decide to escape after Xiao Han uses a rope dart to snatch the amulet. Meanwhile, Edward is left blaming himself for Qing's death, and curses himself for his failure, which has resulted in the loss of another one of his friends.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
In Edward's vision depicting his death, he is shown wearing his blue noble coat. While this contradicts Assassin's Creed: Forsaken, where Edward was described as being shirtless at the time of his death, it is accurate to the Assassin's Creed: Initiates illustration of the event.
