The Boneless is the third chapter of the manhua Assassin's Creed: Valhalla written by Feng Zisu.
Summary
East Anglia, 20 September 866
The group of Vikings were led by Blárskjǫldr who had caught up to the group, Jarl Sten and his brothers Ulf and Bjorn passed a line of crucifixes with corpses nailed to them leading to a church. Inside they see Ivarr the Boneless and Halfdan Ragnarsson, Ivarr shot an emissary sent by King Edmund with an arrow for fun, and then ordered the other emissary to exchange the 2,000 pounds of silver that had been a gift for 100 powerful horses within ten days. After the messenger left, Ivarr, Halfdan, and Sten talked about their past, and Sten introduced his brothers to the two. Bjorn curiously asked why Ivarr wanted horses and no money, and learned that Ivarr was planning to launch an attack.
York, Northumbria, 1 November 866
After the newly crowned king of Northumbria, Ælla, was attending the All Saints Feast in the York Minster, they are alerted to an impeding attack led by Ivarr and his allies riding upon the 10 horses he demanded of Edmund.
