Plot synopsis[edit | edit source]
The moray eels attack Noa Kim but he manages to escape by swimming towards an open door and sealing it behind him. Taking a look around the room he has found himself in, Noa sees skeletons floating in the water and an ominous glow in the distance. Swimming closer to the light source, he discovers it to be the crescent amulet, but just as he touches the artifact, the skeleton holding it seemingly comes alive and addresses Noa as his ancestor, Edward Kenway. Noa then finds himself in a white void, face-to-face with the dreaded pirate and Sage Bartholomew Roberts.
Meanwhile, Yuki contacts Shimazu Sei to inform her that she has lost sight of Noa. Sei finds it suspicious that Noa was able to shake off Yuki so easily and believes it to be the work of the amulet. She then receives a message on her phone telling her Doom Eagle is en route to her position and will arrive in approximately 30 minutes. Sei believes there is a slim chance Noa and Yuki will manage to recover the amulet and return to the ship in this short amount of time, but decides to remain hopeful since everyone's lives are at stake.
Back in the void, Roberts continues to taunt Noa, remarking that Edward's descendant has grown stronger and that he will soon become lost in the Assassin's memories. Noa then suddenly finds himself underwater, among the bodies of sailors from a ship battle above. When he reaches the surface, he is confronted by Roberts, along with apparitions of Edward's friends Charles Vane, Benjamin Hornigold, Mary Read, and Edward Thatch.
After Roberts again addresses him as Edward, Noa, now wearing the Assassin's robes, begins to experience the Bleeding Effect, but is able to retain control and remembers his own identity. He then addresses Roberts as Aita, surprising the Sage, who cheerfully proclaims that Noa has been "chosen" and that the amulet, their "legacy", has led him there. Noa is confused about what Roberts meant by their legacy, but the Sage does not elaborate and instead tells Noa that, while he may be able to resist the amulet's powers for now, he will inevitably succumb to them as he is only human. The hallucination then comes to an end and Noa awakens back in the real world, holding the amulet in his hand.
