Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 18 is the eighteenth episode of Redice Studio's webtoon Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple, a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The webtoon, written by ARC and SHYATAN and with art by Tabii, was released on 21 August 2023.
Plot summary
While John Young follows Captain Rupiya's directions to find his crew's hideout, the Dutch East India Company has no choice but to detain the Far East Company's ship caught smuggling the drugs following the "spectacle" that occurred at the port. A furious Alan Jacob meets with Jan van Aert and Master Sun and accuses the former of scheming against him, but Sun breaks up their argument and points out that fighting amongst themselves will only serve to benefit their enemy. He then offers to help Alan recover his confiscated product and reminds him and Jan that their alliance must not break apart until they have dealt with Madam Lee.
In the present, as Noa Kim finishes reliving this sequence of Edward Kenway's memories, he forgets what he has to do in order to move on to the next sequence and asks for Shimazu Sei's help. After teasing Noa for asking for her assistance despite his insistence on being given complete freedom, Sei brings up a journal that belonged to a ceramic merchant in Macau who had once encountered Edward. Using the information from the journal, Noa is able to synchronize with Edward's memories and the Animus loads up the next sequence.
Edward decides to investigate Sun and heads to a tavern to question some sailors. He offers to buy them a drink, but is interrupted by a group of navymen who recognized him from a wanted poster. After beating up the navymen, Edward leaves the tavern and runs into Zhang, who is on his way to the market. Edward asks Zhang to take him to Sun's ceramic shop, where he attempts to set up a meeting with Sun under the pretense of talking business. However, the merchant running the shop turns him down, explaining he can not introduce a complete stranger to Sun.
After leaving the shop, Edward spots a trio of disguised ninja walking among the crowd and decides to tail them, telling Zhang to head back. Meanwhile, John and Rupiya arrive at the hideout, where the latter shoots one of his men in the shoulder for their previous mutiny while threatening the crew into returning to serve under him, or else they will have to deal with "the Nightmare of the Caribbean."
