There are several points in this memory where the game's arrangement of actors and other assets does not align with how the cutscenes and narrative play out. At the fish hut, Basim and Sigurd are plainly visible through the doorway, yet the cutscene immediately places Sigurd in hiding and Basim behind the door to ambush Eivor. The cutscene also assumes that the player has spoken to the alewife, even if they skipped the alehouse and went straight to the fish hut. During the confrontation at the longhouse, a soldier pulls Geadric away as Eadwyn walks out, but when the fight begins mere moments later, Geadric is still kneeling with no soldier nearby him.
At Leah Villa Garrison, although Eivor may remark that "they're about to execute the prisoners" as the party draws near, the execution dialogue and its implicit "countdown" does not start until the player gets in close enough proximity to the garrison's western half. This allows them to explore, assassinate soldiers, and loot the Roman bathhouse in the eastern half. If Eivor is discovered, the "countdown" stops as the soldiers becomes hostile, and the judge's call to "execute the prisoners" has no effect. Getting discovered in the bathhouse does not appear to prompt the corresponding dialogue, though the judge may break off from the execution stage and attack Eivor normally.
Additionally, approaching Leah Villa Garrison from the southeast will not prompt the party's dialogues for nearing the location. Reloading any save made there may cause Basim and Sigurd to break off from Eivor and stand in plain view while clapping, as though the game considers them part of the spectating crowd, returning to normal when the fighting starts. Finally, Eivor can find a letter in the garrison explicitly stating Fulke's imprisonment at St. Albanes, but it has no effect on the dialogue or quest progression.
After their rescue, the surviving thegns aside from Holt will follow the road south to Oxeneforda, then split up. They will despawn as soon as they are out of the camera's view and are not seen again.
Aside from Basim briefly holding Eivor at knifepoint, there is no in-game explanation for her general hostility towards him, as this is the first time they have met since "Settling Down". Interestingly, she is less certain about raising a fyrd against Eadwyn than in "Raising Iron", where the same kind of army is essential to liberating East Anglia, and though it is possible for players to play this arc before entering East Anglia, it is placed later in the narrative's chronology.

Brewing Rebellion was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Eivor travelled to Buckingham in Oxenefordscire to meet her brother Sigurd and Basim.
Eivor went to speak to Randvi at the alliance map about her next pledge.
Eivor pledged to Oxenefordscire with amusement over the meeting place.
Randvi laughed.
Eivor traveled to Buckingham and found it crawling with soldiers.

Doing her best to avoid detection, Eivor made her way through the town.
Eventually she found a larger building toward the center of town. A small group of soldiers were drinking at a table outside.
Avoiding the soldiers, Eivor used a side entrance to enter the alehouse.
Eivor spoke to an Anglo-Saxon man sitting at a crowded table.
In the middle of the building, pinned to the wall with a knife, she found a notice.
On the other side of the building, Eivor spoke to another man.

Eivor spoke to a woman cleaning one of the tables.
Eivor paid the woman.
Eivor moved southwest along the shore and came across a stone hut.

Eivor entered the fish hut, looking around, and gasped as someone grabbed her from behind and held a knife to her throat. Sigurd rushed from where he was crouched beside a table covered with bread and cheese.
Eivor glowered at Basim and he released her.
Eivor rubbed her neck.

Sigurd turned and went to lean over another table against the far wall, this one covered in papers.
Unseen to Eivor, Sigurd rolled his eyes. When he turned and approached her again, it was with open arms and no acknowledgement of her comments regarding Basim.

Eivor shook her head in disapproval.
Eivor stepped toward Sigurd challengingly and he met her stare.

Eivor made for the door. Behind her, Sigurd and Basim shared a look before following. Outside, Eivor led the way toward the longhouse.
As they neared the longhouse, they heard a man shouting inside.
They came to the longhouse door.

Together, Eivor and one of her companions forced the door open. Inside, they found Geadric kneeling and bound, surrounded by Eadwyn and her soldiers.
One of the soldiers drew his sword, and Eadwyn held out a hand to stop him.
The soldiers sheathed their blades.
Sigurd stepped forward.

Eadwyn turned and walked through her soldiers toward another exit.
As she left, her men attacked.
Eivor released Geadric and he helped fight the soldiers unarmed.
The last of the soldiers was defeated.
Eivor regrouped with Sigurd and Geadric.
The last of the soldiers was defeated.

Basim came to join them.
Before leaving the longhouse, Eivor looked around. On a barrel, she found a note.
On a bench, she found another.

Outside, Eivor, Sigurd and Basim mounted their horses and rode toward the garrison.

They reached the garrison, set within roman ruins. At the entrance a crowd of people were gathered around a stone platform.

On the platform, three men knelt bound while Eadwyn's captain addressed the crowd, a soldier standing guard on either side.
The executioner came from deeper in the garrison to stand beside Brant.
Moving amongst the crowd, Eivor could hear them whispering to each other.
(If Eivor went to Holt first)
Eivor attacked the soldiers.
Eivor attacked the soldiers.
Eivor attacked the soldiers.

Eivor fought the soldiers, freeing the thegns to help the fight.
(If Eivor went to Holt last)
Along with Thegn Holt and the rescued thegns, Eivor, Sigurd, and Basim fought their way out of the garrison.
With the other three thegns executed, Eivor was only able to secure the release of Thegn Holt.
With the thegns fully accounted for, dead or alive, Eivor released the last thegn.
By force or by stealth, Eivor and her entourage exited the garrison and made for the relative safety of the woods.

The group reached an open area near the river, out of view from the garrison.
Eivor and Sigurd smirked at each other.
Eivor grew annoyed.
Sigurd put a hand on Eivor's shoulder.
The others left for their own destinations. Before leaving the area, Eivor returned to the garrison to find what she could. In the main building, she found a letter.
In a locked room to one side of the complex, she found another.
Eivor returned to Buckingham. Within the village, it appeared all of Eadwyn's men were gone.
Before finding Geadric, Eivor returned to the alehouse and spoke to the woman there again.
Eivor left the alehouse and continued her search. Outside the longhouse, she found Geadric standing by a broken cart of supplies, talking to some of his men.
Geadric's men left and Eivor approached him.

Geadric spat on the ground.

Geadric thought about this for a moment.
He looked back at the broken cart.
Eivor rescued Geadric and the thanes.
