Hidden Justice was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan in 2020 through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Eivor finds a conflict between civilians and soldiers in Amienois.
Eivor wandered into a fight.
- French Soldier: Stand down! This is not your silver!
- French Man: Not a chance! It's our silver, you took it from us!
Eivor drew near the battle, and the French soldiers immediately turned on her as well.
- French Soldier: What? They have a heathen on their side?
- French Man: Are you friend or foe? No matter. Help us, stranger! I promise you a reward!
- French Soldier: Stand down, I say! Stand down!
- French Man: Only if you leave this cart behind!
Eivor killed the last of the soldiers.
- Eivor: That is the last of them. I could speak to the men and find out what happened here.
- French Man: Thank you, stranger. We underestimated their strength, and without you, we would have perished.
- Eivor: Not often I find civilians robbing armed soldiers.
- French Man: This is our silver they were trying to take. They raise our taxes and keep the coins for their own indulgence. True, you helped win it back, but we are not inclined to share. I trust that you will let us pass? In return, we will give you a map we stole from the governor's men.
- Eivor: Where does it lead?
- French Man: The governor has a place up north. The map shows a secret entrance. Imagine what you might find there! We plan to raid it ourselves, but I did promise you a reward.
- Eivor: Take the silver and leave the map.
- French Man: Thank you, stranger.
He handed over the map and parted ways in peace.
- Eivor: Map to a secret entrance... I wonder where it leads.
Later, she traveled to Murmiliacum and found the entrance marked on the map.
- Eivor: This must be the place the peasants mentioned. A mint, interesting.
Eivor investigated the mint and found a chest stowed in the corner behind some crates containing 1500 silver.
- Eivor: As you said, without me you would be dead. Walk away with your lives, and leave the silver.
The man sighed in frustration.
- French Man: You're as bad as them. Fine, take the silver, and may you burn in Hell.
Eivor claimed 300 silver from the civilians and parted ways with them while thinking to herself.
- Eivor: Silver can buy happiness.
Despite not having the map, Eivor eventually traveled to Murmiliacum and managed to find the entrance.
- Eivor: I will take both. Leave, and be grateful to leave with your lives.
- French Man: You will regret this. Get the fucker!
The man and any surviving civilian fighters became hostile, forcing Eivor to kill them and claim everything for herself.
- Eivor: To the north? I have been there already and have found this treasure.
- French Man: Is that so? Well, then as someone with so much, surely you can be merciful and let us leave in peace?
- Eivor: Fine. Keep your silver, you fought and earned it.
- French Man: By God! Merci, and bless you on your path.
The civilians parted ways with Eivor in peace.
- Eivor: As you said, without me you would be dead. Walk away with your lives, and leave the silver.
The man sighed in frustration.
- French Man: You're as bad as them. Fine, take the silver, and may you burn in Hell.
Eivor claimed 300 silver from the civilians and parted ways with them.
Eivor got her hard-earned silver.
The chest in the hidden coin mint will always yield 1500 silver regardless of choice with the civilians, and it can be found easily enough without the map, which is removed from the Quest Items section of the inventory as soon as the chest is emptied. The chest is also the exclusive flag for whether the conversation yields the three-choice dialogue or the two-choice dialogue to take their silver or let them keep it. Taking silver from the civilians will yield 300 silver, whereas taking both the silver and the map—which results in a fight to the death—yields 500.
The surviving civilians will all walk to the outer wall of Suessionum if they are not fought afterwards, but they and any deceased civilians and soldiers will all despawn from the world as soon as they are both far enough away from Eivor and the chest of 1500 silver is opened.
