The Drink of the Picts
The Drink of the Picts was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan in 2020 through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description[edit | edit source]
Eivor investigated a brewer within Dunvegan Village.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
Eivor overheard a brewer worrying about his notes within Dunvegan Village.
- Brewer: How could my notes be missing? This was going to be better than mead! This was going to be the choice drink in the Land of the Picts.
Eivor spoke to the brewer.
- Eivor: Do you need−
- Brewer: Please go away. I don't have time for you right now. My life's work is in crisis.
Eivor looked besides him and noticed a house. However, the house was barred thus Eivor broke inside through a window. Inside, Eivor recovered a recipe.
Stained List of Ingredients
- How to make the "Drink of the Picts"
2x Crushed Barley from the yard
1x Wheat from the field, harvested under the stars' watch
1x Firefly
Let rest in oak barrel, then drink accompanied with ale, bread, and cheese.
- Eivor: Someone might be looking for this list. I should gather the ingredients on here for them, too.
- Eivor may have spoken to the brewer again.
- Eivor: I think these notes might belong to you.
- Brewer: You're my savior. Say, you wouldn't mind gathering the ingredients on this list for me? I'm making a smoky drink that's stronger than mead. You can play a small part in making history, if you help.
- Eivor: I'll see what I can do.

Around night time, Eivor found and gathered a bushel of wheat, two bags of barley, and 1 firefly. Afterwards, Eivor spoke to the brewer again.
- Eivor: Here. I've gathered everything on your list.
- Brewer: You're my hero. Mark my words. This drink will take the Land of the Picts by storm soon enough. Once I make it, of course!
The brewer left as Eivor completed the task.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Eivor helped a brewer gather his ingredients for his "Drink of the Picts" recipe.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The name and events of the memory are indirect references to Whiskey, an alcoholic drink common in both Scotland and Ireland that is usually made with barley and aged in white oak barrels.
