Take My Chest Away was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Basim Ibn Ishaq in 2020 through the Portable Animus HR-8.5, in which a vision of one of Odin's memories could be seen.
Havi overheard a dwarf stuck with his carriage.
Havi heard a complaining dwarf.
- Jordri: Of course, of course! Just my luck. I knew I should have waited for the ground to dry out... Stupid, useless cart. That's what I get for buying second-hand.
Havi spoke to Jordri.
- Havi: What is the problem?
- Jordri: It's this cart! Stuck in the mud, see. And so, my sacred duty will never be fulfilled!
- Havi: Sacred duty...?
- Jordri: That's right. In my family, when our days are nearly done, we hide our most beloved treasures behind waterfalls.
- Havi: Why?
- Jordri: Because, what is a waterfall with nothing behind it? A water-fail, that's what! Of course, with Muspels everywhere, I cannot wait until I'm nearly in the ground. Think you could help me out?
- Havi: I'll pull the cart free.
- Jordri: The cart? No. Lug this chest up those cliff there. Much quicker if you do it. I'll make it worth your while.
- Havi: I'm actually very busy—
- Jordri: It'll take a mere moment. Found the perfect spot already, right behind one of the waterfalls. Walk along that log, follow the path up the cliff, go through a little cave, and you'll find the right waterfall. You'll know you're in the right spot when you find the white flowers. Bring me a few, would you, so I know you managed to find it.
- Havi: (grunt) White flowers. Very well.
- Jordri: Oh, you are kind! I'll wait for you right here.
- Havi: Overcoming a challenge increases its worth. You'll be fine. And I'm busy.
- Jordri: Well... it's your loss.
Havi spoke with Jordri again.
- Havi: Changed your mind, eh?
Havi considered his choices again.
Havi carried the chest towards the log and worked his way to the waterfall. Havi soon found his way inside the first cave.
- Havi: Sacred duty, indeed. (sigh) This is the first cave, but not my destination. The path must continue on to the correct waterfall.
Havi continued and found the correct cave.
- Havi: Is that... ah, yes. White flowers.
Havi placed the chest on the ground and picked up white flowers.
- Havi: There. Proof for the dwarf.
Havi left the cave and headed back to Jordri. Havi spoke with Jordri immediately.
- Jordri: Aha! My saviour. Well then, do you have the flowers?
- Havi: I do. Here.
- Jordri: Ah, excellent! And, uh, you did put the chest where I asked, yes?
- Havi: Of course.
- Jordri: Good good. Then you have my thanks. My sacred duty is fulfilled.
- Havi: And my reward?
- Jordri: Oh, the finest of all! Gratitude. And the satisfaction of a job well done.
- Havi: (sigh)
Havi sighed and left Jordri by himself.
Some time later Havi returned to the cave to find the treasure stolen and a note in its place.
Thief's Note
- Didn't think any dwarf would be stupid enough to hide their treasure behind a waterfall.
I was wrong.
Haha! Finders keepers!
Havi helped an elderly dwarf place his treasures within a waterfall's cave.
