Anglo-Saxon Man:After years of blood and gore, looting and burning, forgive us if we don't trust a Dane.
Eivor:In Rhodri we share a common enemy. My only wish is to destroy his supply line and bring him to the table, begging for a truce. Once we have peace, you and your kin will no longer walk this land in wretchedness.
Anglo-Saxon Man:What you say is good sense. Very well, Dane. Here's what I know.
Eivor:Yes, I imagine you've known sword, fire, and death. That you have lost those close to you.
The man lowered his head in mourning.
Anglo-Saxon Man:All of us have.
Eivor:I have known that pain. It brought me to England to start anew. But Rhodri and his Britons stand in my way, as they stand in yours.
Anglo-Saxon Man:I understand you well. Perhaps I spoke in haste.
Eivor:As a Norse, I know I have little right to ask for your help. But I'm fighting to bring this war to an end.
Anglo-Saxon Man:If you're truly fighting that devil Rhodri, I'll tell you what I know.
Anglo-Saxon Man:The Britons move their goods through Dhustone Quarry. See that tower to the south? That's the Hill Gate Remnants. Further on you'll find the stone quarry.
Eivor looked as the man pointed to a distant tower on the hill.
Eivor:Thank you.
Anglo-Saxon Man:Hold a moment. If you need extra help...
Eivor:I may...
Anglo-Saxon Man:Good Mercian men are working in that quarry. They all fought for thegnMerton. If you find yourself in a pitched fight, call out his name in praise. The workers will rally to you.
Eivor:"God bless Thegn Merton." Understood.
On a table nearby, there was a note.
Farewell Letter: Arleigh, it's up to you to look after your brother and sister while I'm off fighting the Britons. You're the oldest and you've a good head on your shoulders.
I wish your mum was still with us, but alas. Begging's your last chance. Watch that Osred and Inga don't get into too much mischief.
Da.
Eivor arriving at the quarry
Eivor then tracked the location of the quarry, passing by the ruined tower, and eventually using Sýnin to find it in a valley near it.
Eivor:Dhustone Quarry, filled with Briton supply carts. Once I burn those, it will push Rhodri to peace.
She infiltrated the camp, assassinating Briton soldiers and freeing some of their prisoners along the way.
Orlaf:Let me out. I want to fight these bastards.
Eivor:Deorlaf asked me to free the prisoners to strengthen ourfyrd.
In one of the camps siding the quarry's central depression, she found a written note on a table.
If Eivor was detected by the soldiers and informed of Thegn Merton, she called out the signal phrase.
Eivor:God bless Thegn Merton!
The miners responded to her call, gathering across her, building her forces and helping in the fight.
Anglo-Saxon Man:For Thegn Merton, lads!
Eivor:Merton's men, fight with me!
On the mined rock formations at the center of the quarry, she found another note.
Report - Prisoners Taken: Ynyr,
We have captured some Saxons as you ordered. They do nothing but shit and complain. Request permission to cut their throats.
-Cymen
Amidst the confusion at the quarry, Eivor encountered the supply carts and burned them down, causing them to explode. The group eventually killed all the soldiers present.
Eivor:The quarry south of the tower? Thor must smile on me today. I have already destroyed the supplies there. Thank you for your time.
With the quarry task complete, Eivor reflected on the next task ahead of her.
Eivor:There we are. The quarry and Wenlocan, both done. That should shake Rhodri to his senses. Now to Wesberie before Ivarr causes more problems.
Eivor:That's done. Off to Wenlocan Outpost and the Briton cargo.
