Gathering Strength
Gathering Strength was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description[edit | edit source]
Eivor went to Knockfree to speak with Flann Sinna.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
Eivor arrived in Knockfree to see Flann.
- Flann: At the ready. We march soon.
Eivor overheard two soldiers.
- Irish Soldier 1: Where do you hail from?
- Irish Soldier 2: Southern Uí Néill.
- Irish Soldier 1: Ah, I know it. Many's the winter I spent there as a boy. O, those honeyed oat cakes!
- Irish Soldier 2: Fill you up morning 'til night, that's sure. And yourself?
- Irish Soldier 1: Brega.
- Irish Soldier 2: Ah. Small wonder you came down for the winters. Cold as the hangman's heart up there.
Eivor spoke with Flann.
- Flann: The missing piece has arrived.
Flann turned to Eivor.
- Flann: Welcome, Eivor.
- Eivor: Lord. This has the looks of a Norse war camp. Plenty of stout-looking men.
- Flann: The fruits of your labor, Eivor. The kings you've helped have sent men and more as tribute. You have my thanks.
- Eivor: Thank me later. A battle looms.
- Flann: True enough. Your cousin awaits inside the tent of command. I'll soon follow to plan our next move.
Eivor walked off as she secured an alliance with the Southern Uí Néill army.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Eivor met with Flann as he thanked her for her help. Eivor secured an alliance with the Ireland's Southern Army.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The dialogue between two Irish soldiers actually requires two male NPCs in plainclothes to be in close proximity to each other. One or both may not spawn close enough together—or at all—as the actors for the area and memory are loaded in, preventing the dialogue from playing. To fix this, players that wish to see this dialogue should reload from a previous save or fast travel to a different area to unload Knockfree, then travel there again until both NPCs spawn and can exhaust the exchange.
