Champions of the Faith was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan in 2020 through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description
Eivor's raids caught the attention of the keepers of hallowed grounds.
Dialogue
As soon as Eivor had reported her last successful raids to obtain the remaining armor of Lugh and the Ulfberht Sword, Vagn warned her that some of the rivers had taken greater defensive measures.
- Vagn: It seems as though all your raids have pushed certain sacred sites to seek out protectors. They have hired mercenaries to act as their champions of the gods.
- Eivor: What does this mean for me?
- Vagn: Each river will have their defenses raised to their highest level.
- Eivor: So I should avoid them?
- Vagn: No! You should draw them out, slay them and claim their fancy weapons as your own.
Eivor set sail once more for the River Severn, River Berbha, and River Rhine, battling through the heavy river defenses to challenge each champion in England, Ireland, and Francia.
With all three champions defeated and their axe, hammer, and greatsword added to Eivor's collection, she returned to Vagn.
- Eivor: Vagn! I defeated all the champions and claimed their arms.
- Vagn: Haha! You would have made a fearsome Jomsviking, Eivor.
He handed her a note that had come for her.
