Rollo's Lost Dane Axe was a battleaxe that once belonged to the Viking warrior Rollo. At some point it came into the possession of the monks of the Northern Monastery along the River Severn, who bestowed it upon their protector.

Owners[edit | edit source]

History[edit | edit source]

The Dane axe was once owned by the famed Viking raider Rollo. During his travels through England, he lost the axe, which was later retrieved by Welsh monks and taken back to their nearby monastery.

During her travels, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan raided several locations along various English rivers. Due to this, several settlements around the waterways set up champions to protect them from the Viking raiders. Relayed this information by Vagn, Eivor traveled to face these champions, one of whom was stationed along the river Severn. Sailing down the river, she landed at the Northern monastery and faced off against the Champion and her warriors. After defeating the champion, Eivor reclaimed the lost axe.[2]

Description
Rollo took the baptismal name of Robert but "Robert's Lost Dane Axe" doesn't sound very intimidating.
