| This article is about the memory of Eivor Varinsdottir. You may be looking for the weapon itself. |
The Sword of Saint George was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description[edit | edit source]
Eivor tracked down the wielder of Saint George's sword.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
Eivor sailed to Deva Victrix, a military location along the River Dee and fought the famous River Champion, recovering the sword from him. When she returned to Ravensthorpe, she told Vagn the good news.
- Eivor: The River Champion is defeated. The Legacy of Saint George is won!
- Vagn: This is why we found each other, Eivor! That I would lead a true warrior to a deserved prize!
- Eivor: Do you believe this did once belong to this sainted man, George?
- Vagn: Who can know? But it is pleasurable to think so. I say we should believe it! And you know, there's probably more where that came from. Keep raiding, I say. Never know when you will stumble upon another legend.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Eivor recovered the fabled longsword of Saint George.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The Champion is sealed in a tower behind a red "breaching" door that requires the aid of a raider to break down. It is possible to climb the western hills where the fortress keep is located and take out as many elite-ranked soldiers as the player can handle solo, working top to bottom to clear opposition for their Jomsvikings and keep them healthy. They will join Eivor in battling this champion, and even on Aesir difficulty his level will not scale very high relative to the player's, rendering the climb to the fight the main challenge of the memory rather than the fight itself.
