Pending Deliveries was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description[edit | edit source]
Eivor found several pieces of cargo behind Yanli's store and a note with a list of delivery locations. She decided to speak to Yanli about it.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
After building up the Trading Post for Ravensthorpe's merchant Yanli, she found a note behind the building along with four out-of-the-ordinary items laid on a carpet before her.
Pending Deliveries
- Stone slab: To the woman who owns the farm just southeast of Lincolnscire's southern bridge
Jar of rosewater mead: To the hermit hut at the feet of the mountain, north of Sabrina's spring in Glowecestrescire.
Crate of bowls: To the jewel maker in Ledecestre, between the church and the old Roman bathhouse.
Anvil: To the blacksmith in Lunden. His workshop is near the church, close to the west gate.
Curious, Eivor walked up to Yanli's counter to ask about it.
- Eivor: Yanli. This list... are these debts?
- Yanli: No, those are the names of deliveries I have yet to make. Still waiting on payment.
- Eivor: These are quite far away, and in all directions. It may be they don't have time to travel here.
- Yanli: That could be. If you had a mind to deliver them yourself, I could cut you in. Surely they wouldn't refuse you payment.
- Eivor: An interesting idea. Maybe when I have the time.
- Yanli: Keep the note, just in case.
They turned to their usual business, and Eivor left when she was done.
Using the Sea-Chariot, Eivor was able to sail the items around England one at a time to their destinations. Each customer paid her a small sum of silver for the delivery.
Sailing as close to the farm across the bridge from Lincoln as she could get, Eivor carried the large stone the rest of the way and set it down at the farmhouse.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman 1: My lovely stone. My dear and lovely stone. I was waiting on that for ages. Thank you!
Eivor sailed the rosewater mead as deep into Glowecesterscire as possible, then hauled it over land to the hut near Sabrina's Spring.
- Anglo-Saxon Man 1: A cask of rosewater mead! I never thought that would get here. You're an angel sent from Heaven.
Eivor sailed the crate of bowls to the docks of Ledecestre and carried them to the small warehouse across from the bathhouse and church.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman 2: My bowls and cutlery. At last, they came. Thank you, stranger.
On the west side of Lunden, Eivor carried the anvil to the blacksmith nestled in the alleyways and marked by a suit of armor on display.
- Anglo-Saxon Man 2: Is that... is that my new anvil? Lord, I thought it had been pilfered by bandits. I cannot thank you enough.
With the deliveries completed, Eivor returned to Ravensthorpe to see Yanli.
- Yanli: Do my eyes deceive me, or did you deliver all of my remaining orders?
- Eivor: I think I did, unless I miscounted.
- Yanli: I had no idea. Here one day, gone the next. Thank you for that. You deserve some compensation.
Yanli handed over 3 nickel ingots as payment for Eivor's efforts.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Eivor helped deliver the anvil, slate, crate, and jar to several customers across Mercia.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
This is not a formal memory in the sense of being actively tracked in the quest log, however the note of pending deliveries will be added to the Quest Items tab of the inventory and remain there for the remainder of the game, even after the four deliveries are completed.
If Eivor travels too far away from the cargo, it will despawn and reappear back in Ravensthorpe, forcing the player to restart from the Trading Post. This naturally precludes fast traveling to the destinations, but the slim margin of roughly 20-30m also effectively prevents making multiple deliveries along a unified route; even if the player alternates carrying multiple items and placing them every 10 or so meters to keep them all gathered together, they would have to do this at every delivery stop, making this exceedingly impractical and much slower than simply making four separate, independent sailing trips across England.
It is possible to complete the deliveries in any order, with it being more convenient to take them on as Eivor approaches each shire's area level and thus making it safer and easier to traverse them. The order in which they are done has no effect on the remaining snippets of dialogue within the memory. However, for the purposes of this page, they have been organized according to the order listed in the pending deliveries note. Upon completion, players may also get the "+3 nickel ingot" to flash twice, based on how the conversation with Yanli fades out to her usual dialogue prompt, however this does not mean the player received it twice; the reward remains only 3.
