Ireland's Defender was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description[edit | edit source]
Eivor tracks down the Champion of the Faith in Ireland.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
Eivor made her way to the Festering Valley in River Berbha, encountering the Champion and his sister.
- Berbha Champion Brother: Looks like Odin has sent us one of his dogs, Sister.
- Berbha Champion Sister: No matter, Brother. We'll bring this dog to heel.
Eivor defeated the two Champions, claiming the Celtic Crusher for herself.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Eivor killed the holy champions and took their weapon.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
As with the champion who held Lugh's Spear, Eivor must fight alone against her target, which turns out to be two. However, the arena she fights them in has much more room to maneuver than the fight to claim Lugh's Spear, and abilities that affect multiple targets will work to the player's advantage. In particular, 'Harpoon Impalement' can toss one into the other, damaging and stunning both, fairly often as they will form up side by side together frequently.
Upon killing the champion and returning to Ravensthorpe to bank the acquired loot, the river will reset to low river defenses, even though the internal alert was raised to maximum from attacking a highly fortified Druid location—the Ireland rivers' equivalent of a monastery.
