Hide and Hunt was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description[edit | edit source]
Eivor traveled through a farm in East Anglia and met some children playing hide-and-hunt.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
As Eivor traveled across a farm in East Anglia, she came across three children huddled around a tree.
- Sigg: Get ready for hide-and-hunt, everyone!
- Pebble: Look at that! It's a giant!
- Braggi: Play hide and seek with us, giant! I bet you hide real good!
Eivor spoke to Braggi.
- Eivor: Hide-and-hunt is a true warrior's game. It is good that you play it.
- Sigg: Then play with us! This lot's easy, but you'd be hard to find. Go hide with the others! And after the count, I'll seek you out like the mighty wolf, Fenrir!
Pebble, Braggi, and Eivor scattered to hide.
- Sigg: Everyone hides while I count down! After the count, I will seek you out! Everyone go hide, but stay in the village! Outside the village is out of bounds!
Twelve, 'leven, ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four... three-two-one! Ready or not, here I come!
Eivor came to a hay cart.
- Pebble: This is my spot! But we can share.
Eivor found another hiding spot as Sigg went to find his friends.
- Sigg: The mighty Fenrir stalks the land in search of its prey!
Sigg ran up to Braggi's hiding spot.
- Sigg: I found you, Braggi! I mean, the wolf did!
- Braggi: No fair! You're too good!
- Sigg: No, you're just bad 'cause you always hide in the same spot.
Sigg continued searching.
- Sigg: I am getting closer...
My keen wolf-nose is picking up a scent...
Awooo! Fenrir is getting hungry!
Sigg ran up to the hay cart.
- Sigg: Found you, Pebble!
- Pebble: Aw! You peeked, didn't you!
- Sigg: Ha! Nothing escapes the mighty nose of Fenrir!
Though he found the others, Sigg eventually gave up on finding Eivor. She was declared the victor.
- Sigg: Come out, giant! You won the game!
Eivor emerged from hiding and talked to the children again.
- Sigg: I lie not! You won! I surrender, giant!
Before leaving, Eivor spoke to the children once more.
- Braggi: The giant is the champion!
- Pebble: The Hider in Shadows, the one who lurks unseen!
- Sigg: Not too bad, but I can do it better.
- Eivor: Farewell, children. Play well and stay warm.
Eivor left the children as they began another game.
- Sigg: Get ready for hide-and-hunt, everyone!
- Eivor: A warrior's game. In these times, even children must hide from two-legged wolves.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Eivor played hide-and-hunt with some children and won.
