Taking Root was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5, in which a vision of one of Odin's memories could be seen.
Description[edit | edit source]
Havi went to the mountain in the south of Asgard in search of its root.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
Havi read the riddle to retrieve the "root of a mountain".
Potential at Its Peak
- Cradled in rock,
At Asgard's highest height,
A seed sleeps in Ymir's cold grip.
Warm it awake, bring it to water,
For old bone to sprout with new life.
Leaving from Asgard, Havi traveled toward a lone mountain to the south.
- Havi: This is the mountain I seek. There is no higher peak.
He climbed to the peak of Beinahruga. On an outcropping just below it, he found a large, opalescent seed sitting on a bed of hay.
- Havi: This looks like the right place. I swear, dwarves would choose riddling over rutting.
Havi inspected the seed.
- Havi: There is the seed, in the mountain's rocky grip. Some heat may free it from its shell.
Havi set the hay aflame.
- Havi: The seed will not sprout root until I get it into some water.
Have took the root to the ledge and threw it down into a small pond.
- Havi: I must retrieve the root for Ivaldi before it takes hold.
Havi dove into the pond after it. On the shore, the seed had become a small boulder from which sprouted a few glowing blue roots. He collected the roots and descended the mountain to continue his quest.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Havi collected the root of a mountain in Ivaldi's pouch.
