Hel's Well was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description
Havi came across a man shouting at him.
Dialogue
As Odin approached Hel's Well in Asgard, a man can be heard yelling.
- Motull: Havi! You coward! Come fight me!
- Motull: Face me!
- Motull: Havi...!
When confronted, Motull explained.
- Odin: What is it?
- Motull: Havi! You must let me through!
- Odin: Why? What do you want with the Well of Helheim?
- Motull: To return to my wife, Ronnow. Our village was destroyed. I died with my axe. She did not.
- Odin: Good warrior, Helheim is no place you want to be. I have given you the honor of of joining my warriors. Do not be fickle.
- Motull: If it was your love, you would move the Nine Realms to reunite with her. You care not for us warriors! I challenge you to a duel. If I win, fulfill my wish. If you win, send me to Hel because I am an unfit warrior.
- Odin: That is an unfair fight. I cannot win, and you cannot survive.
- Motull: Who am I to trick a trickster? Come, Havi, are you a prick and a coward? Grant my wish, you soft-cock!
- Odin: I raised armies while you were shitting your rags. Come, lose and take your place in Hel!
Odin defeated Motull and then revived him.
- Odin: Friend, even if rejoined, it will not be as you were. Helheim makes shadows of us all. Your beloved would be ash in your arms.
- Motull: I miss her, Havi. I miss how she'd weave flowers in my hair. I miss her crooked front teeth.
- Odin: Then take that memory with you. Hold it as an ember against your chest until Ragnarök. At the end of all things, you will see her.
- Motull: Thank you. You have earned your title as wise. I will fight in your honor, and keep your name clean in my mouth.
Outcome
Havi either fought and defeated Motull, or comforted him with words.
Behind the scenes
Losing to Motull, deliberately or otherwise, counts as a death and results in a full desynchronization. Thus it is only possible to fight and kill him, or talk him out of it.
