More Intel was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description
Eivor met with Hytham to discuss a letter that arrived for her.
Dialogue
At the longhouse, Eivor read a letter Hytham had left for her.
- Letter from Hytham
Eivor,
I received another letter from our "Poor Fellow Soldier of Christ." He may have uncovered a few new targets.
Visit my bureau when you have some time.
Hytham
- Letter from Hytham
Eivor then went to the bureau, finding Hytham waiting for her inside.
- Eivor: Jorvik is now free of The Order's influence.
- Hytham: Brilliant as ever, my friend. Thank you. For all you have done. Ah, there is something for you. An odd letter arrived a few days ago. Signed by one calling himself—
- Eivor: A Poor Fellow-Soldier of Christ?
- Hytham: That's right. Someone you know?
- Eivor: Not by sight. But this soldier has intimate knowledge of The Order. He is the reason I have found them so easily in the cities.
- Hytham: The letter says you must travel to Wincestre, visit God's house, and look for a man in white. Then recite this passage... "When pride cometh, then cometh shame. But with the lowly cometh wisdom."
- Eivor: All right. I will speak with Randvi, get a fuller picture of all this.
Returning to the longhouse, Eivor spoke to Randvi.
- Eivor: Hytham received a message from Wincestre. From someone calling himself a Poor Fellow-Soldier of Christ.
- Randvi: Your hidden ally. Very interesting. More targets I assume.
- Eivor: Yes. So what do you think? Could it be a trap?
- Randvi: As a West Saxon stronghold, Wincestre will be a rather unwelcome place for you. But that is nothing you cannot handle. If you go, do not go boldly.
Eivor pledged to Wincestre.
- Eivor: I will make my way to Wincestre. The letter asked me to meet a man in white at a house of God. And then recite this phrase. "When pride cometh, then cometh shame. But with the lowly cometh wisdom."
- Randvi: A passage from their holy book, I believe. Interesting. Go with care.
Outcome
Eivor left for Wincestre to meet with the man in white.
Behind the scenes
This memory will become available upon completing the Oxenefordscire and Jorvik arcs. It initiates like an ordinary quest but does not complete the same way—i.e. with an in-game announcement, and it does not award any xp for doing so. It "completes" by merely declaring the pledge to Wincestre at the Alliance Map and is immediately overwritten by the initiation of The Reeve of Wincestre. In this way, it is simply a narrative bridge between the double prerequisite and the following step of the main story. It is technically "skippable" by simply ignoring the letter from Hytham in Eivor's room and going straight to speak with him after both of these arcs are turned in. In this case, the letter is simply removed from Eivor's letter box and the memory itself adds to the Completed quests section of the Quests tab upon "completion," affecting nothing else with the dialogue or story.
If Eivor speaks to Hytham about her success in Jorvik before completing the conditions to start "More Intel," she may omit her line stating "I should talk to Hytham" near the longhouse entrance, only stating the post-letter reading line of "I should talk to Hytham about my next targets."
