Going Deeper... was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description
Eivor met with Valka to go into the dreams once more.
Dialogue
Eivor collected St. John's wort and fireweed before returning to Valka in her hut.
- Eivor: I have the plants you asked for. It took some effort.
- Valka: Good, good. Thank you, Eivor.
Valka finished preparing the elixir.
- Valka: Here you are. And be careful. This brew will feel as cold as ice on your lips, yet will burn like a fire in your belly.
Eivor drank the potion and sat down, being transported into Odin's memories yet again.
(If Eivor awoke before completing the Saga of the Snows.)
- Valka: Eivor. What has happened? What have you seen?
- Eivor: Stranger things yet. But... something took me out of it, pulled me away.
- Valka: Hm, yes, that can happen. Return when you are rested and we will try again.
On a table near the door, Eivor read some notes that Valka had composed.
Valka's Notes on Eivor's Journey
- Eivor speaks of journeys into the lives of gods and gazing out through the eyes of Odin. Of all those I have helped to see the worlds beyond, the Wolf-Kissed's visions are the clearest, the most precise.
When I call out to the gods, they answer in riddles. A breeze through the meadow grass. The call of a crake. But no matter the infusion or the herb, they do not speak in the words and pictures that Eivor hears and sees.
In my weakest moments, I fear I do not have their favor. But I must be steadfast in my belief. They will will show me what I need to see when I am ready. Always.
Returning to Havi's memories, he spoke once again at the gate into and out of Jotunheim, remarking on the work that remained for him in the realm.
- Havi: I have things to do yet before I can leave.
(After completing The Price of Wisdom)
Eivor awoke.
- Valka: Come, settle your mind and tell me what you have seen.
- Eivor: Strange things, Valka. I am learning much and seeing more than my mind can understand.
- Valka: Go on.
- Eivor: In Jotunheim, I sought and found a mead of incredible power. It promised a strange effect. To drink it would deliver me from death. Shield me from the destruction of Ragnarök. By this mead, I hoped to live beyond my own death, well into the future.
- Valka: Fascinating. Was that your final vision?
- Eivor: They have not ended, not yet. Something compels me to return to Asgard.
- Valka: The elixir is ready when you are.
Outcome
Eivor gathered the required plants for Valka's potion.
Behind the scenes
If players had gathered any Anemone sylvestris, or "snowdrops", during the memory "A Seer's Solace", 3 of them would disappear from Eivor's inventory after speaking to Valka upon bringing the required flowers, which is most likely a bug.
