Fare Thee Well, Young Eagle was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Basim Ibn Ishaq in 2020 through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description
Eivor has a short conversation with Hytham.
Dialogue
Eivor made her way to the Ravensthorpe bureau to meet with Hytham one last time.
- Basim: Hytham's bureau. Another memory fragment here
Using the Animus, he saw an Anomaly hovering on a hill across from the bureau.
- Basim: The memory fragment is close, I feel it.
Basim used the Animus and maneuvered around the moment at his own pace.
- Basim: Let's move this timeline forward...
Eivor found Hytham tending to his bureau.
- Hytham: Eivor. Have you given my offer some greater thought?
- Eivor: No, Hytham. I have not.
- Hytham: Then I will ask again tomorrow.
- Eivor: How does a heart so large hide in such a modest man?
- Hytham: I don't follow.
- Eivor: To work so tirelessly for strangers...fighting not for yourself, not for your people, but for all the world. That takes compassion of a size I have never known or seen in others.
Eivor signaled Hytham to sit besides her.
- Hytham: Ah. I thank you.
- Eivor: Do you not worry about your own family? Or your clan back home? How did you come to be so rootless?
- Hytham: I do have a clan, as you call it. But no family. I was orphaned quite young. It may be this lack that drove me to join the Hidden Ones. They certainly treated me as a son.
Afar, Basim closed his eyes, pleased.
- Eivor: I too lost my family. But I gained another, this Raven Clan. I owe them my life, and I would give them mine.
- Hytham: I feel the same gratitude, but on a larger scale. You see, anyone can join the Hidden Ones, and therefore everyone is worthy of our love.
- Eivor: I admire your cause, Hytham. But I do not have the focus needed to carry forth your Creed. My mind is often...divided. Between the present and the distant past. And it will take some time to understand why.
Soon, Hytham noticed his trainees, consisting of Eluric, Tove, Yanli, and Rowan, arrive.
- Hytham: Ah, is it time?
Rowan nodded yes.
- Hytham: Forgive me, Eivor. We keep our training to a strict schedule.
- Eivor: Of course, carry on. And good luck with this lot. They're a wild crew...
The group chuckled as Eivor left Hytham to teach his new apprentices.
Outcome
Eivor said good-bye to Hytham, who was now teaching new initiates for the Hidden Ones.
