Crystal Cave was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Basim Ibn Ishaq in 2020 through the Portable Animus HR-8.5, in which a vision of one of Odin's memories could be seen.

Description

Having found a Dwarven Shelter, Odin decides to speak to a dwarf to gather intel.

Dialogue

At Grenhellir Shelter, Odin approached Gunborg.

• Gunborg: Who goes there?
• Havi: I am Havi. Lord of Asgard.
• Gunborg: You...? You're a long way from home. Or are the Aesir now invading us as well, jailer of Ivaldi?
• Havi: Ivaldi owes me his freedom. Where is he? I would speak with him.
• Gunborg: Be my guest. I assume you know the way to Helheim?
• Havi: He's ... he's dead? How?
• Gunborg: How else? Or do you need both eyes to see the Muspels everywhere?

She paused.

• Gunborg: That was uncalled for, I... Walk with me.

She started leading Havi deeper into the shelter.

• Gunborg: I am Gunborg. Leader of this shelter. Or, what remains of it, now Ivaldi is gone. He was trying to make contact with the other shelters. There was an ambush. Glod's soldiers. And ... something else. Something worse. A creature of fire and fury. It ... it devoured Ivaldi whole.
• Havi: No doubt bred in Surtr's dungeons. Perhaps with Loki's aid, before I could make him my captive.
• Gunborg: You and your captives. Regardless, Uldar fell soon after Ivaldi did. Our mines, and miners ... any survivors now serve Glod.
• Havi: Is that name meant to mean anything to me?
• Gunborg: Glod is Surtr's bastard sson. Half-Muspel, half-Jotun. A nightmarish being, capable of tearing a dwarf in two.

An unthinkable end.Your people will have vengeance.It takes little effort to do so.

• Havi: An unthinkable end for anyone, whether warrior or otherwise.
• Gunborg: I saw it with my own eyes. I still see it when I try to sleep.

• Havi: Your people will have vengeance.
• Gunborg: No. The people of Uldar are finished.

• Havi: And yet ... Glod has not simply slaughtered your people. He needs your miners. To what end?
• Gunborg: The invaders hunger for secrets buried deep in the ground. Ancient relics. The Muspels place great importance in them.
• Havi: And how do you know this?
• Gunborg: Enough, Havi. We have suffered enough. Now I must endure all these questions?
• Havi: Aid me with your knowledge, and I shall strike a blow against Glod, and all Muspels.
• Gunborg: In Uldar, we had someone gathering information for us. The miner, Fritjof. He's been silent for days now, which is unlike him. Probably dead, for all I know.
• Havi: Anything sought by the Muspels must be mine. Where was Fritjof last seen? Perhaps I can find him.
• Gunborg: There is a house in Uldar, its owners killed by Muspels long ago. There, we would exchange messages with him.
• Havi: This house ... how do I find it?
• Gunborg: It's the tallest house in the Jeweler's District, by the city's south gate. Just ... look for the gold in the streets. You'll see.
• Havi: Fritjof may be the key to obtaining these relics Surtr seeks. I must find him.
• Gunborg: Do as you must, Lord of Asgard. I have too many burdens of my own to worry about yours as well.

Outcome

With a new lead, Havi left the shelter in search of Fritjof.
