- Eivor: You're not so bad to work with, after all. Terrible at following orders, though.
- Kassandra: Give me a little credit. It's my first time working with another person in... I don't know how many years.

What Dreams May Come was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan in 2020 through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Eivor placed the five shards into the pedestal inside the Cave of Gold and entered the mysterious passage.
Eivor returned to the Cave of Gold and inserted the triangle shards into the pedestal. As she inserted the last shard, the triangles immediately began to glow a bright yellow energy, which flowed through channels in the ground to the door. As the door powered up and gave off yellow-orange light, it hummed and opened as Eivor stood before it.
She stepped inside and traveled through the cave beyond until she reached another grand door surrounded by cursed villagers. After dealing with them, Eivor stepped towards the door and saw light fixtures around the room.
Distracted, Eivor failed to see a villager from an upper ledge behind her pick up a spear and throw it at her unprotected back. At the last second, a loosed arrow intercepted the spear in midair to divert it over Eivor's left shoulder, landing paces in front of her. Startled, Eivor turned and snarled on spotting her attacker, who drew his sword, until another loosed arrow lodged itself through his neck, killing him.
Kassandra jumped down from her ledge and joined Eivor as both warriors were surrounded by cursed civilians. Eivor and Kassandra started to fight their cursed attackers.
Eivor and Kassandra defeated the cursed villagers.
Kassandra turned her attention to the mechanisms.
On some scaffolding, Eivor found a letter.
Letter Regarding a Locked Door
Eivor helped Kassandra and noticed she could move the globe mechanisms.
Eivor directed one of the beams into one of the plates beside the door, powering it up.

Eivor powered up the other plate with the second beam, opening the door.
Kassandra and Eivor walked through the doorway, only to see shields and helmets from both Sparta and Athens.

As both continued on, Eivor took notice of a mask, unaware of its significance.

Eivor and Kassandra continued walking until Kassandra stopped upon spotting a wooden figurine of an eagle. Eivor turned back to see a shocked Kassandra collapse to her knees in grief.
Caught up in her emotions, Kassandra remained kneeling. Eivor spied the artifact in the final chamber, then turned back to talk to Kassandra.
Eivor stepped into the final chamber and cautiously approached the artifact. She took note of its true shape, a pulsating silver sphere, resting on a pedestal. Steadying herself, she grabbed it with both hands, and the artifact instantly glowed as a voice whispered in Eivor's ear.
Eivor screamed in pain from the artifact's power coursing through her.

Kassandra came to her senses and rounded the corner, running at full sprint into the Apple's chamber. As Eivor collapsed to the ground holding it, Kassandra slid beside her and also placed her hands on it to help absorb its energy. In doing so, it created a ghostly golden phantasm behind Eivor and Kassandra. Eventually, the artifact's energy ran out, dissipating the phantom, and the two women could finally stand on shaky feet. Catching their breaths, Eivor looked approvingly at the now inert artifact.

Kassandra shrugged.
Eivor handed the Apple to Kassandra as both chuckled at what happened. Both warriors walked out of the vault.
Eivor grumbled in halfhearted gratitude.
Eivor stopped in place thinking, letting Kassandra walk ahead of her.
Kassandra bid farewell to Eivor, who walked forward to stop her.

Kassandra winced in painful memory.
Kassandra shook her head happily.
Kassandra waved off as Eivor smiled at the prospect for a night out.
Eivor and Kassandra found the artifact and fixed the nightmares, effectively ending the plague across the island.
