Eivor reached a cliff, where a woman stood at the edge, yelling.
Norse Woman:Arne! Fly up, Arne! You can do it, pet! Come on! Come on, we did not train all that time for nothing! Arne! Fly! Fly to me!
Eivor approached the woman.
Eivor:Dropped something?
Norse Woman:Good ol' Arne, my beloved pet, fell down... well, flew his way down below. Now, the poor thing is stuck. I cannot seem to encourage my Arne to fly back up. Looks like we still have a long way to go.
Eivor performed a leap of faith and found Arne, a turkey, nearby.
Eivor:It cannot fly. I will have to lead it back up.
Norse Woman:Watch out for his... affections. Arne is the fiery sort, loves to give... kisses. Please don't kill him if he pecks you a bit.
Arne attacked Eivor.
Eivor:Stop that.
Norse Woman:Stop pecking, Arne!
Eivor:By Odin, this bird is as foul as they come.
Eivor returned Arne safely back to her owner
Eivor used the turkey's aggression to lure him up the cliff back to the woman. It gobbled as they reached her.
Norse Woman:Your voice is beautiful, Arne!
Eivor approached the woman again.
Norse Woman:Thank you for bringing Arne back into my arms! I would like to repay your kindness. I have what is left of Arne's family. Unfortunately, they didn't survive their training quite as well. Try it, they're quite delicious!
The woman gave Eivor a turkey meal.
Norse Woman:I guess I will go back to my friends, the Toothbreakers. I hope they still wait for me at the port! Come on, Arne. Let us take flight.
Norse Woman:I suppose it was his fate. He was one of the slower ones. I guess I will go back to my friends, the Toothbreakers. I hope they still wait for me at the port!
The woman took her leave and began walking back to Nyhofn.
Arne has a habit of turning hostile to Eivor—for the purposes of him "pecking affectionately" as presented in the memory's narrative—and then immediately losing interest, not following Eivor for several more seconds between these moments of hostility. It appears that modifying the game's 'Stealth' difficulty setting will shorten or lengthen the time he spends chasing Eivor and respectively lengthening and shortening the time between chases. Regardless, standing about 5-10 in-game meters away in plain sight of Arne is the best way to 'kite' him up the hill and back to his owner.
The Turkey Meal awarded for leading Arne back up the cliff safely is classified as a trade good, but it is impossible to actually sell it as the option to sell items does not exist with Vinland merchants, and the item along with all others obtained in Vinland are removed from the inventory before returning to England.
