- Eivor: Seems there's a bounty out on Hunwald.
- Anglo-Saxon Man: He's ruffled some feathers, that much is clear. You know him?
- Eivor: I do.
- Anglo-Saxon Man: Then the Lord truly is watching over me.
- Eivor: Right place, right time.

The False Ealdormancy was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.[1]
Eivor came across a man being mistakenly abducted by an Mercian soldier while on her way to search for Hunwald at Ealdorman's Overlook.
While traveling in Lincolnscire, Eivor departed the city of Lincoln and followed the road north to a tall old tree in the distance. At an intersection, she encountered a Anglo-Saxon soldier with a another Anglo-Saxon man tied up on his horse. The soldier rode along the road with her.
The soldier ignored him, and his captive went on pleading.
The captive cried for help.
Eivor shot the soldier off his horse with her bow. The soldier got up from the ground to confront his assailant, brandishing his flail.
The soldier tried to fight off Eivor.
The two continued to trade blows.
Eivor killed the soldier and went after the horse carrying the prisoner.
Eivor drew near the horse.
Eivor removed him from the horse's rear.
Eivor unbound the prisoner's ropes.
Eivor let the man go, knowing nothing about the person for whom he was mistaken.
Eivor killed the Mercian soldier and rescued the falsely accused man Roderick.
When the player travels to the world event's map marker, the Anglo-Saxon soldier with the kidnapped Roderick will spawn on a separate road merging into the road leading from Lincoln. Roderick will endlessly cycle between his three lines until the player intervenes. In addition, the soldier has no real destination. Until attacked, he is scripted to make endless and randomized rounds along the roads in the area, even making u-turns at intersections.
Completing the Lincolnscire arc has no bearing on this event or its dialogue. The bounty on Hunwald that led to Roderick's detainment apparently remains in force for the remainder of the game, even if the player votes for Hunwald to become Lincolnscire's new ealdorman during the events of Where the Stone Falls.
