When she returned, the male hunter from Vithrloekr was sitting by the fire as well.
- Norse Man 2: ...four! No, FIVE of those brown beasts!
The first man laughed.
Breaking Teeth, Not Hearts was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan in 2020 through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Eivor met with a man sitting at a campfire in Nyhofn.
In Nyhofn, Eivor came across a man singing by a campfire.
Around the man were several slain animals. He was apparently waiting for others.
Eivor approached and spoke to the man.
Eivor left. She returned again after meeting and helping his friends.
When she returned, the male hunter from Vithrloekr was sitting by the fire as well.
The first man laughed.
When she returned, the female hunter with the pet turkey was sitting by the fire as well.
When she returned, both of the man's companions were sitting by the fire as well. The male hunter mocked the female hunter's training of Arne.
Eivor spoke to the first man again.
The man stood, beginning the hunt in earnest and signaling his group to follow.
The man and his companions ran out of Nyhofn and Eivor followed.
The group came upon a deer that had been mauled. They examined it for a moment before following the tracks.

The group came upon a deer that had been mauled. They examined it for a moment before following the tracks.

The tracks led downhill towards a small rock laden pond, where they heard the growl of a cougar.
The group ran up the hill on the other side of the water and encountered the cougar in a small clearing.
They fought the cougar.
Together, the group killed the beast.
Eivor considered the hunt to herself.
Eivor spoke with each of the Toothbreakers again before departing.
Eivor joined the man and his companion(s), whom Eivor helped earlier, on a hunt and killed the cougar they were hunting.
Even though the man in Nyhofn can be spoken to at any time, this memory cannot be started without first completing "Flight of Fancy" or "Ursine Takeover". The game will only load the dialogue for the first hunter to return, then the "combined" dialogue of the male hunter mocking the female hunter's training of Arne, then the group planning the hunt. If both memories are completed before returning to Nyhofn, it will prioritize the first memory completed.
All of the dialogue is triggered by proximity, therefore any "earlier" dialogues not fully exhausted may prevent the later dialogues from firing at all, by occupying their "place" in the queue. Thus it is recommended that players fully listen to the lead hunter singing alone, then "They're making me wait an awful while," before talking to him directly as laid out on the page, complete a memory of their choosing, return to hear it, then complete the other. It is possible to keep passing back and forth through Nyhofn's main gate talking to Nessa—or Hilde if "Hunter's Repast has advanced to that stage—about returning to England, then declining, to force the hunter dialogues to advance, and reloading a save made just outside Nyhofn may trigger the first remark properly.
If "A Dead Man's Tale" is not completed before the support memories, only one hunter may return to the camp despite helping both, however it is still possible to leave this memory incomplete and have both return without issue. On a similar note, completing this memory before the other of the two support memories may prevent the second hunter from ever returning to Nyhofn.
During Flight of Fancy, Eivor can kill Arne. When Eivor returns to Nyhofn, though, the dialogue around the campfire will still play as though Arne is alive. He will still be treated as dead by the woman hunter in her final remarks after killing the cougar, speaking as though Arne died there rather than during Flight of Fancy.
It can be difficult to keep Arne alive while also dragging out the fight long enough to hear all of the lead hunter's battle cries—and even on Aesir difficulty he will be able to deal significant damage to the cougar by himself, resulting in a cutoff as soon as the cougar dies—however saving and reloading on the hill leading up on the other side of the rock laden pond will reset and stall Arne's A.I. while the hunters move normally. This may allow him to lag behind the humans significantly and stay well out of the cougar's range while the hunters close in. Hitting the lead hunter with fully powered hunter bow shots may stagger him while allowing his lines to trigger—and a well-timed 'Focus of the Nornir' ability can slow time while the dialogue plays out and ready fully powered shots in one stroke.
The hunters one-time parting remarks, if not exhausted when the cougar is killed, will remain available after they return to camp, where the cougar's corpse will spawn in perpetuity as a source of leather.
