A Feline's Footfall

A Feline's Footfall was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5, in which a vision of one of Odin's memories could be seen.

Description

Havi went to the roof of Valhalla to search for a golden cat statue.

Dialogue

Leaving Ivaldi's forge, Havi read the riddle to retrieve "a cat's footsteps."

Cat's Foot Note

Over the gate to the Great Norse Hall,
A golden cat sits patiently,
Gazing upon many tall towers,
She'll flee when she is found,
But follow without fear.
Look, leap, and descend,
Once she leads you to the end,
She may ghost to the ground,
Land as well and swiftly seal her sound.

Havi climbed to the top of the gate to the Great Hall of Asgard. At one side of it, he found a golden statue of a cat mid-leap.

• Havi: One of Freyja's statues. Who put you up here, little cat?

As he reached the statue, it vanished with a meow and reappeared further along the gate. Havi followed it and the same thing happened when he reached it again.

• Havi: So that's how it is. Lead the way, nimble one.

Havi followed the statue down a rope slide.

• Havi: Where are you leading me?

In the distance, Havi focused on the foundation of the Builder's shield, upon which a tower was being erected with speed.

• Havi: He's made the base already? The Builder works fast. A bit too fast.

• Havi: How is he building that tower so quickly? There's more to this stranger than meets the eye.

Havi continued following the cat statue until it reached a post sticking out from the wall, which led only to a drop into a pile of flowers.

• Havi: Nowhere to go but down...

Havi performed a Leap of Faith. At the bottom, he retrieved the cat's footsteps, and the statue turned into a living cat.

• Havi: I have it. Who knew you could capture a sound?

Outcome

Havi collected the sounds of a cat's footfall in Ivaldi's pouch.
